Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #3 Color Challenge

Hello and welcome to the 3rd challenge for SIP!  Today's challenge is a color challenge!
Just make a card using Real Red, Bermuda Bay, and Smoky Slate and link it up!   I LOVED these colors together.  My first thought was nautical so I pulled out my Sea Street set and went to work on a shaker card!

Most of the products used were current but I did use some retired nautical DSP for my background.  I have a little bit of a retired DSP hoarding issue. lol

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #2 - Sketch Challenge

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  It's been a busy couple of days for me after celebrating Father's Day with my Hubby this past weekend.  I guess I try to cram too many things into a weekend, am I the only one that does that??

Today I'm back over at Stamp, Ink, Paper with a new Challenge Card. This week's challenge is a sketch challenge! Sketch challenges are so much fun because it really is up to interpretation and you can totally make it your own. I hope you'll check out all of the design team cards at SIP this week and give this Challenge a try!

I'm trying to focus on some of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors so today my card features Delightful Dijon.  For some reason, Delightful Dijon has been one I've been struggling with so I really wanted to find a way to start using it.  I've made two cards with it and it really is growing on me. lol

For my  card I started with an 11" x 4 1/4" sheet of Bermuda Bay scored at 5 1/2".  I layered on a 5 1/4" x 3" piece of the new Bohemian DSP and added a 1" strip of crumb cake topped with the Delightful Dijon Lace Trim to the left side of my card.  I stamped my tree and swing image from the Sheltering Tree stamp set ontoWhisper White rectangle after I had lightly sponged on some Bermuda Bay Ink.  I glued this to a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock and then used my Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the layered piece to my card.  My whisper white banner was stamped with Delightful Dijon ink and sponged with it around the edges.  I added a few Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins to finish it off.  This was an easy card but I really like the way it turned out!

SIP Challenge 1 Reminder

Hello and happy Tuesday. I'm back with the SIP design team today with a new card and a reminder to play along with our first challenge. Since this is a Getting To Know You Challenge, this should be an easy one. Just make a card that is a "you" card and link it up!

http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/06/sip-challenge-1-reminder/

I had fun playing with some old and new products for this one!

I used the new Brick Wall Embossing Folder, oh how I love this one! My butterfly was from Polka Dot Pieces and was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder onto Rose Pink cardstock.  I adhered some of the new Gold thread with glue dots and then attached my Butterfly over that.     I used a Memory Box Woodland Branch die with punched flowers made with the petite petals punch.  on Printed Vellum that was a freebie from SAB and I used my Blendies to color on the backside.  I put a Pearl Jewel embellishment into each of the flowers.  The "Hello" was from the Hello You Thinlits and was attached with SU 2 way glue.

So now that you've seen my card head on over to Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge Blog and link up your own card!

OSAT Blog Hop - Happy Father's Day or Masculine Card

Hello and Happy Thursday!  We've almost made it to Friday and that is always a good thing!  Since it's the 2nd Thursday of the month it's time for another One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop.  This month, it's all about Father's Day or Masculine Cards. If you have already been hopping then you should have landed from Kim Smith's Blog.  Kim is new to our Blog Hop but has some amazing work so I hope you left her some love on her page to make her feel welcome!

If you've followed me at all, you are probably not one bit surprised that I pulled out the Traveler stamp set for my masculine card.  It really is my "go to" masculine card set!

I started with a 11" x 4 1/4" card base in Chocolate Chip.  I scored the front with my MFT stitched rectangles set.  I then cut a layer of Pool Party with a smaller stiched rectangle and dry embossed it in a woodgrain embossing folder.  I cut a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the world map onto it with Stazon Timber Brown Ink.  Once dry, I used my Aqua Markers to watercolor the map in with my Pool Party, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive Ink Pads.  Once I finished my watercoloring, I used a heat tool to dry it and then cut a stitched circle out of the Map.  I then heat embossed the sentiment from the Friendly Wishes Stamp Set with Gold embossing powder on the Map.  I glued my circle onto the lower half of the woodgrain background layer.   I stamped the train on Whisper White cardstock, fussy cut it, and adhered with dimensionals.  In the upper right corner I put a layer of burlap ribbon and a small piece of Chocolate Chip Chevron Ribbon from my huge stash.  I stapled the ribbon to the upper right of the card.  I then threaded a basic gold button with linen thread and adhered it the ribbon with glue dots.

For my second project I made a mini treat bag gift card holder.  I used a large sheet of watercolor paper and stamped the world map on it twice side by side with Stazon Timber Brown ink.  I then watercolored using my aqua painters with the same inks that I used on the map on my card.  I dried the paper off with my heat tool and then cut out the mini treat bag with my die and glued it together.  I glued a piece of burlap ribbon around the bag and stapled on a couple of pieces of Chocolate Chip Chevron ribbon and strand of linen thread to the left side of the burlap.  I heat embossed another of the sentiments from the Friendly Wishes Stamp set in gold.  I cut that out with a small stitched circle die and cut a larger stitched circle in Pool Party.  I glued the sentiment onto the blue circle and then adhered it to the burlap ribbon with glue dots.  I added a few gold Pink Posh sequins because it needed a little something :)  Oh and one of my favorite parts of this little bag is that I used My Paper Pumpkin blue tissue paper for the inside of it!

The Paper Players Challenge PP248 Masculine Card

Hello and Happy Monday!  I survived the day and at some point I had my doubts I would!  Why oh why are weekends not longer!

I made a card tonight for The Paper Players Challenge Blog.  To check out the challenge and link up your own card, click Here.

This was a masculine card challenge and to me that meant one thing....pull out the Traveler Stamp Set!  lol

Leave it to me to not use just one or two stamp sets.  I have a little bit of everything going on here!  I have an A2 card base of Baked Brown Sugar, a 5 3/8 x 4 1/8" layer of Pool Party, and then a 5 1/4" x 4" layer of watercolor paper.  I stamped the World Map stamp onto the Watercolor Paper with Brown Stazon Ink and then used my Aqua Painters to watercolor and distress the map.  I stamped the ship from the Traveler stamp set onto a piece of Pool Party with Memento Tuxedo Black, I then stamped the swish under it to look like Ocean Waves in Lost Lagoon.  I stamped the ship again on Whisper White and fussy cut the body of the ship and smoke stacks out and glued to the top of the ship that was stamped on Pool Party.  I cut the ship out with my MFT stitched circle dies and cut a larger circle out of Baked Brown Sugar to layer under it. I glued the blue circle to the Baked Brown Sugar circle and adhered them to my Map layer with dimensionals.  I stamped a cloud in Soft Sky from the Sprinkles of Life set and punched it out with the Tree Builder Punch and adhered it off the circle and cut the edge off at the end of the map layer.  I heat embossed the sentiment in gold on Whisper White from the You've Got This stamp set and cut a banner end on the left side.  I backed it with a layer of Baked Brown Sugar and used my Bone Folder to put a wave in it.  I adhered it to my card with dimensionals.  I stamped a suitcase from the Traveler set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White and then fussy cut it and adhered it to the right side of the sentiment banner with dimensionals.  Whew! That was fun but I had a LOT of stamp sets out!  Oh well, that's how I roll!  lol

SIP Challenge #1 Getting to Know You

Well I have some super exciting news!!  I am now a Design Team Member for a brand new Challenge Blog called Stamp, Ink, Paper!.  For the very first Challenge we thought it would be fun to Get to Know You! So make a card that is a "You card" and link it up Here.   How much easier could that be??
http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/06/sip-challenge-1-getting-to-know-you/

I'm going to have to be completely honest..I was really stumped as to what type of card I wanted to make.  I have so many favorite techniques, styles, etc.

After a little bit of stress topped off with a little debate with myself, I decided to go with a watercolored background technique.  My A2 card base is 110# Crest Solar White cardstock.  I topped that was a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the recently retired Stampin' Up! Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.  Next is a 3" x 4 1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and is topped with a 2 3/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White.  I heat embossed the I'm here for you sentiment from the new "You've Got This" stamp set in Gold.  My watercolor paper background effect was done by Inking a large Acrylic Block with Bermuda Bay, Pistachio Pudding, and Crushed Curry Ink, then misting the block with water and "squishing" the block onto the watercolor paper so that the paper absorbs the ink.  I dried the watercolor paper layer with my heat tool and then heat embossed the floral images from the Vintage SU "Of the Earth" stamp set with White Embossing Power.  I adhered the watercolor panel onto the Whisper White card stock and wrapped a piece of Whisper White Seam Binding around the panel.  I attached a Linen Thread Bow to the seam binding and topped with a large Pearl Jewel embellishment.  I then added a "Papillion Potpourri" butterfly made by heat embossing the butterfly with White Embossing Powder onto Bermuda Bay cardstock and then punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Have a wonderful week and make sure to link up a "You card" to the SIP Challenge Blog!

You've Got This Paper-Piecing

Hello and Happy Sunday!   I finally got a chance to use my "You've Got This" stamp set today.  I've seen so many cute cards made with it.  I wanted to do something a little different than what I've been seeing.

For my card I used a Mint Macaron and added a layer of Gold Soiree DSP and then a layer of Whisper White cardstock that I had stamped with background stamp in Mint Macaron.   I heat embossed the flower with Stampin' Gold embossing powder onto the background as well as onto the Gold Soiree DSP that I wanted to use for my Paper Piecing and then fussy cut the flower and adhered onto the flower that was stamped onto the background.   I also heat embossed the sentiment in Gold and added some Gold Pink Posh sequins.  I glued a thin piece of the new Mint Macaron lace onto the edge of some Gold Sequin Trim and adhered to the upper left corner with a glue dot.  I added a Basic Gold button and topped it with a large Pink Posh Gold sequin.

ICS Blog Hop Introducing the 2015-2017 In Colors

Hello and welcome to Inspire, Create, and Share's Blog Hop Introducing the 2015-2017 In Colors!  In case you haven't heard these brand new In Colors are Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, and Tip Top Taupe.  If you've been hopping along, you should have arrived from the super talented Deb Naylor's Blog.

I am LOVING these new colors!  I keep changing my mind on which is my favorite but right now it appears to be a tie between Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush.  They are both such fresh, fun colors so I those them to focus on for my project this month.

I started with a standard A2 card base of Cucumber Crush.  I added a strip of some of the New Cherry On Top DSP Paper onto left side of my card.  I then cut a 3 x 3 1/2" mat of Cucumber Crush cardstock and layered on more of the Cherry of Top DSP and then a smaller layer of Cucumber Crush.   It has such fun bright colors and matched the Watermelon Wonder and Cumcumber Crush DSP perfectly!  I stamped the ice cream cone base from the new Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set with Tip Top Taupe onto Whisper White cardstock.  I fussy cut it out and glued onto the layered rectangle.  I stamped the ice cream top tone on tone onto Tip Top Taupe as well as the Watermelon Wonder cardstock.  I then punched those out the new Tree Builder Punch.  I adhered the layers of the ice cream tops over the cone.  I then cut out three random width little strips of more of the Cherry On Top DSP and cut banner ends with the new Triple Banner Punch.  I glued those under the right side of the rectangle and then adhered it all with dimentionals onto my card.  I stamped my sentiment with Watermelon Wonder Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out each line seperately at backed it with Cucumber Crush cardstock.  I glued those in a random manner to the far left side of my card. I added a few Pearls and called it done.  I really love how it turned out!
