PCC372 Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Timeless Tropical again!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I'm half way through the work week so that's a super big Woo Hoo!

Paper Craft Crew has another fun sketch up for you to try out this week!

Are you tired of my obsession with Stampin' Up! Timeless Tropical yet?  I can't seem to get enough of it!  This time I used the Palm Trees along with the coordinating dies for them as well as the additional leaves and flowers.

The background was cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies with one of the Follow Your Art DSP sheets.  I thought the pattern and the beautiful coastal cabana had the "beachy" feel I was going for.  I matted that layer with a thin layer of Early Espresso Cardstock.  I used the second from the largest of the Stitched Shapes Squares for my Whisper White to back the trees.  I also used a thin matt of Early Espresso on the stitched square.  To stamp the Palm Trees on a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I used my Stamparatus Stamping Platform along with Stampin' Write Markers in Garden Green, Mossy Meadow, and Soft Suede.  I used the same markers on the sentiment from Label Me Bold Stamp Set.  To split the Happy Birthday into two seperate sentiments, I used the side of my marker just past the word and used a scrap of paper to make sure the edge was fairly straight.   I fussy cut the seperate sentiments out ... luckily it is just straight lines so really easy! So did you happen to nice that little bit of grass at the bottom of my diamond??  Well I couldn't let my palm trees just hang out there without ground or grass so I used the new Special Days Dies to cut a little sliver of grass in Garden Green Cardstock.  Once I had the grass cut I used the same stitched square to stitch the sides so it would fit right into the corner.

Here's the inside of my card...

I kept the inside super simple by adding the rest and relax sentiment from Timeless Tropical along with three of the flowers from the coordinating dies.

PCC371 Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Timeless Tropical Bundle and Label Me Bold Stamp Set

Hello and Happy, Happy, Hump Day!  What a week I've had already!  I'm so glad that I've made it half way through it!  This week over at The Paper Craft Crew we have another Sketch Challenge!

I used the gorgeous Timeless Tropical Bundle and Label Me Bold Stamp Set along with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder for my card this week.

My background panel is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock that was stamped with a few of the splatter stamps in the Label Me Bold Stamp Set and then embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.  I matted that on a very skinny layer (4 1/8" x 5 3/8") of Petal Pink Cardstock and then adhered them to an A2 Thick Whisper White Card Base.  I used a scrap of the Lily Impressions DSP (freebie during SAB for a $50 purchase) and used one of my Stitched Shapes Dies to cut it into a circle that was adhered to the middle of the card front.  Next I stamped the floral and leaf images from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Soft Suede onto Whisper White Cardstock and used my Stampin' Blends to color them in... the colors of the blends were Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Light and Dark Granny Apple Green.  Once colored and cut out the coordinating dies, the floral and leaf images were arranged and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals over the circle allowing some of the gorgeous colors in the DSP to peak through.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out scissors and then attached to the card front with Mini Dimensionals.  Finally I colored three Gold Glitter Enamel Dots with Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends and adhered them to the card front to finish it off.  I love how this turned out.  I hope you love it too!  Sketches are always so fun to use to kickstart the creative process!

OSAT Blog Hop - Sixteen Candles

Hello and welcome to the One Stamp At a time February 2020 Blog Hop!  This month we are all about birthdays!!!  If you've already been hopping, thanks so much for continuing!  If you are starting with me, please make sure you use the blog roll at the bottom of this post to navigate the hop!  You will find so much wonderful inspiration with this talented group of crafters!!

I finally had the chance to use the fabulous Under My Umbrella Bundle from Stampin' Up!'s January - June Mini Catalog!  I absolutely ADORE this set!  I can't believe I hadn't already used it!

My inspiration for the colors came from the beautiful Pigment Sprinkles that I used on my  Watercolor Panel in the background.  A 3 x 4" piece of  watercolor paper was spritzed with water and then sprinkled with some of the beautiful Bermuda Bay Pigment Sprinkles.   After adding the sprinkles, I spritzed the watercolor paper two additonal times and moved it from side to side to spread that gorgeous color!  When I was happy with the background, I used a paper towel to dry up any of the color that was trying to escape the edges of the paper and then used my heat tool to dry it completely!  My top folding cardbase was made out of  half sheet of Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  I ran a piece of the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP on the left side of my cardbase.  The front panel was added with Dimensionals onto the center of the card front. For the umbrella, I stamped it directly on a scrap of the Lily Impressions DSP in Memento Tuxedo Black and punched it out with the coordinating Umbrella Builder Punch. I used a scrap of Smoky Slate Cardstock for the umbrella handle.  The boots and several of the different little flower images were stamped onto scraps of Whisper White Cardstock with Memento and colored using Stampin' Blends duos in Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, and Blackberry Bliss. The flowers and boots were super easy to fussy cut and I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to go around the edges so no white was showing.  I added the umbrella with Dimensionals at the bottom of the panel.  I used multipurpose adhesive to adhere the top and bottom of the umbrella handle so I could slide a small piece of Whisper White twine under the handle to tie a bow.  I added the boots and all of the flowers with mini dimensionals.  A scrap of Daffodil Delight Cardstock was used to cut out the round sentiment label using the Painted Labels Dies (part of the Painted Poppies Bundle!).  I heat embossed the It's Your Day sentiment in White in the middle of the painted labels die cut and adhered it partially with a mini dimensional (left side) and partially with Multipurpose Adhesive.  I finished the front off with three sequins from the Woven Threads Sequin Pack.

Here's the inside of my card...

For the inside, I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  In the lower left I added a partially open umbrella die cut with the same Lily Impressions DSP and then added a few more of the flowers on the edge of the umbrella.  .

I made a little Mini Curvy Keepsake treat box to go with my card...

I cut the mini curvy keepsake box out of more of the Lily Impressions DSP.  I cut out a small tag (also in the die set) and stamped one of the smaller flower bouquets onto the tag and colored them in with my Stampin' Blends and added three of the Woven Thread Sequins.  I used Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and some Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine to close the mini curvy keepsake box and add the tag.    So simple but so cute and perfect any little treat!
