Christmas Card Fever ... On a Roll

Happy Monday!  I was on a roll with Christmas Cards this weekend!  I am determined to not get to the first of December without my cards done this year.  I have to tell you that I am absolutely in love with New Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog that goes live on September 4th!  I feel so blessed to be a demostrator and be able to preorder some of these and start playing around with them early.  I know I should be working on Halloween and Fall cards but I am so much more of a Christmas kinda gal!  The last couple of cards I made were with Toile Christmas bundle so I decided to let the gorgeous dies from the Beautiful Boughs Dies be the showcase on this card.

I used the colors from the Wrapped in Plaid DSP.. Night of Navy, Shadded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment is from the Tidings All Around Stamp Set and was embossed in Gold to showcase the gold stripe in the plaid DSP.  I used some scraps of Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip Cardstock for the pine cones.  I used a LOT of cardstock on this one.. I just couldn't seem to be done with my matts and layers this time. lol

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

Female Cardinal Toile Christmas Bundle Card

Hello and Happy Sunday Funday!  I've had a nice quiet and peaceful morning but thought I'd try antoher Christmas Card with the Toile Cardinal Bundle.  I had to google female cardinals  and I think I did a decent job for my first one  but I definitely will need to work a little on this.  Maybe for the next one I will attempt to watercolor it.  For this time I used my Stampin' Blends.

I stamped the cardinal in Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  For the red, I used the dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend along with a little of the Light Crumb Cake and the Color Lifter.  For the limb I used the darked Crumb Cake, Light Mossy Meadow and the dark Poppy Parade and again used the Color Lifter to move some of the color around a bit.  After die-cutting them I decided to do a little extra fussy cutting around the feet of my bird so that he would look like he was actually sitting on the branch.  I think that little bit of extra fussy cutting really made such a difference.

Have a blessed Sunday!  Tina

My First Christmas Card of 2019 - Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog Preorder!

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I received my Stampin' Up! Preorder for 2019 Holiday Catalog yesterday and I could not wait to create!  This catalog is sooo awesome!  I seriously want pretty much every single thing in it!  I was able to keep my order down to just three bundles, 2 DSP packs and 2 ribbon spools.  Believe me, it was NOT easy!   For my first Christmas Card of the year I used the Toile Christmas bundle, Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper and the Beautiful Boughs Dies from the Peaceful Boughs Bundle!  What do you think??

I  used my Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut a layer of the Toile Tidings DSP and layered onto an  A2 card base of Garden Green Cardstock.   I added a smaller Stitched Rectangle Layer of Vellum in the center of the Toile to soften it.  I stamped the Cardinal and branch with berries onto Whisper White Cardstock with Early Espresso Ink.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the Cardinal and the branch.  The coordinating dies were used to cut out both the Cardinal and the branch.   I used some scraps of Garden Green Cardstock to cut some greenery using the Beautiful Boughs Dies.  The branch and greenery with adhered with Multipurpose Adhesive and Dimensionals were used to pop up the Cardinal.  I stamped the Christmas Wishes sentiment in Versamark Ink onto Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I used the coordinating die to cut it out and popped it up on the lower left side to finish it off.  I absolutely love Cardinals and thought this turned out super pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

Growing in Unity - Day 5

Well friends this is my last Growing in Unity Day!  For my last card I went to my first love.... Coffee!  Yes, I love all things coffee and probably have every coffee themed stamp that Unity has made.  Today I used the One Sip At a Time Stamp Set.

This was such a simple card to make.  I stamped the coffee cup image with Versafine Onyx Black Ink on a sheet of Bristol Smooth cardstock.   Once dry, I watercolored it with Zig Clean Color Markers.  Once colored I used the one of the light gray Zigs to ground it.  I stamped the sentiment on the lower left side with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then clear embossed it.  I cut the panel to 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" and added it to the right side of a piece of patterned paper that measured 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".  I then added that to an A2 cardbase of 110# Neenah Classic Solar White Cardstock.  I finished it off with 3 Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Confetti Sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments all week!  Stay tuned as I'll be announcing the 2 winners of the Unity Prize Packs in a few days!

Blessings, Tina

Growing in Unity Day 4

Hello!  Can you believe it is already Thursday?  My Growing in Unity Week has flown by but has been so much fun!  I love having a reason to be creative every day!

Today's card is a combination of the Hit The Brick Background Stamp and two stamps from the May  May 2017 Kit of the Month (free your dreams).   I love background stamps and this is one of my favorites.   My vision was of a limb hanging in front of an old brick building with birds.  I actually have many Unity stamps with birds so I had a hard time deciding which to use.  I love birds... birds on a limb, birds on a wire, just any birds!  I finally decided on these beautiful large birds from the Kit of the Month  because they were the perfect size!

For my background I stamped the Hit the Brick Stamp Set in Versamark Ink on to Bristol Smooth Cardstock and then stamped it in SU Gray Granite Ink.  The Versamark helped the ink stay sticky so that I could Clear Emboss the image.  I ink blended Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink over the embossed the image and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  I double mounted the panel on skinny layers of Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight Cardstock.   The birds on a limb image was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx Ink onto more of the Bristol Smooth Cardstock and was clear embossed.   I watercolored the image with an Aqua Painter and Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Hickory Smoke, and Weathered Wood.  Once it was dry, I used my paper snips to fussy cut it and adhered it directly to the front of the panel with Gina K Connect Glue.    The Hello Friend sentiment was also from the same Kit of the Month and was stamped in more of the Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto a scrap of White Cardstock.  I cut it at an angle and adhered it to the front panel on the upper left side.  The matted panel was attached to an A2 cardbase of 110# Neenah Classic Solar White Cardstock.  I ran some black and white twine along the fold and tied it into a bow in the upper left corner to finish it off.  I really love the way it turned out!

Thansk so much for stopping by!  Don't forget to comment for a chance to win one of two Unity Prize Packs!    Blessings, Tina
