Hello and Happy Sunday Funday! I've had a nice quiet and peaceful morning but thought I'd try antoher Christmas Card with the Toile Cardinal Bundle. I had to google female cardinals and I think I did a decent job for my first one but I definitely will need to work a little on this. Maybe for the next one I will attempt to watercolor it. For this time I used my Stampin' Blends.
I stamped the cardinal in Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. For the red, I used the dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend along with a little of the Light Crumb Cake and the Color Lifter. For the limb I used the darked Crumb Cake, Light Mossy Meadow and the dark Poppy Parade and again used the Color Lifter to move some of the color around a bit. After die-cutting them I decided to do a little extra fussy cutting around the feet of my bird so that he would look like he was actually sitting on the branch. I think that little bit of extra fussy cutting really made such a difference.
Have a blessed Sunday! Tina
Beautiful Lady cardinal love the color ! 🎈🐢🐒🐢
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! It was my first attempt and I was happy but am excited about trying it again by watercoloring!
Deletethank you for the female cardinal. this is the best I have found. Thank you for sharing.,
ReplyDeleteDid you ever try the female with water coloring? You did a fabulous job using blends (I read about trying the tip to tip technique with blends — maybe i will try using the color lifter, though)
