SIP #96, CAS Wedding Card with Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I'm back over at Stamp, Ink, Paper with a Clean and Simple Wedding Card!  Although CAS is not my usual style, I'm beginning to love them more and more!  I think these theme challenges are helping me come out of my multi-layering card rut! lol

I just received my gorgeous Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid Stamp and Die Sets from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store so you know I had to use them!

Aren't these orchids gorgeous?  They are so pretty, you don't need much else!  I stamped my orchids onto 80 # Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock.  I used SU Blushing Bride for the bottom Orchid layer.  The second layer was SU Flirty Flamingo and the last layer was Altenew Rouge Ink.  The branch and the Best Wishes sentiment were stamped in SU Chocolate Chip Ink.  My cardbase was SU Watermelon Wonder Cardstock and the top layer was more of the 80# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock.  I added three enamel dots to finish this CAS card off.  I love the simplicity of it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - A Sara Thing Kit!

Hello and welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing's very first Blog Hop!  This is a monthly Blog Hop dedicated to Paper Pumpkin Alternative cards and projects!  As a non-demo Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I was thrilled to be asked to join in this hop!  There are seriously some Rock Star Stampers among us!  If you've started at my blog, please make sure you hop all the way through so you won't miss anything!  If you've already been hopping, you should have landed from my friend, Megan's blog and thank you so much for continuing!  Before we get to my card and project I have something very important to share....We have a Blog Hop Give Away!  To be entered into a drawing for a FREE "A Sara Thing" Paper Pumpkin Kit, you must leave a comment on EVERY blog.  Drawing closes on Saturday, April 29th at 9PM EST.  The winner will be announced on Monday, May 1, 2017.  This is such an awesome kit, I am so excited that one of you will win one!

Here is my card and project for you..

I decided to sponge instead of watercolor the emboss resist.  I used a sponge and Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo to apply the color.  I decided it was a little too bold in places so I used my Aqua Painter to add some water and mellow out some of the ink blending.  I then cut out that portion and used it on the bottom left of a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Watercolor Paper.  I stamped my sentiment in the upper right and stamped the splatter stamp three times above the Melon Mambo resist.  I added some of the Washi Tape in the very upper left corner.  Last but never least I added three of the flowers, each with two of the leaf stickers.  Glue Dots were used to adhere the flowers.  I topped the flowers with a Rhinestone Jewel and then added three other random Rhinestones.

These coordinating envelopes are just perfect to use for Mini Treat Bags.  So I shared about a month ago how to make these little treat bags out of a regular A2 envelope.   If you missed this post you can read it here!  Basically, it's simple to do and if you have a small treat and need a little bag, this works just perfectly.  I stamped my sentiment on the envelope and used my oval dies to cut out the oval hole prior to cutting, scoring and shaping into a treat bag.

PCC240 Sketch Challenge - Gina K Designs My Anchor Mini Kit

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  It been a super rainy week so far but thankfully no bad storms around here... just a lot of rain.  What better thing to do on a rainy night than craft, right?? Since today is Wednesday that means it's time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  I love this week's sketch.. there are so many possibilities!

Even though I used this same Gina K Designs My Anchor Mini Kit yesterday, I still had the desire to ink up more of the stamps in it.  I decided to go with the truck stamp this time because it really looks like such an old classic!  I think I'll get a lot of use out of this one!

All of the Patterned Paper is from the kit as well.  After I stamped the truck image with the Gina K Designs "In the Navy" ink cube, I added some splatters in various tans and browns and then dabbed it with a little water. The water made my truck image bleed a little but I felt like since it was supposed to look old that it added to the look.   This is definietly a grungy look but I really love it and I think it goes well with the Grow old along with me sentiment.  There includes a "The best is yet to be" sentiment for the inside of the card as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #95 Sketch Challenge with Gina K Designs My Anchor Mini Kit

Hello and Happy Tuesday.  I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!  I was off work on Friday and took a couple of half days off of work prior to Friday so I felt really rested over the weekend!  The hardest part was heading back to work on Monday!  I had a lot to catch up on so it's been a busy start to my week!  Since it is Tuesday, it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge!

Isn't this sketch just awesome!  Such an awesome and simple card layout!  I decided to use the Gina K Designs My Anchor Mini Kit that I recently purchased.  Here's a fact that you may or may not know about me.  I love, love, love anything Nautical.  I loved both the images and the sentiments from this kit and knew that they would work well with other stamps that I already have in my stash.

Pretty much every stamp in this set would have worked with this layout.  I could have made cards so quickly with this CAS design.

I hope you'll head over to Stamp, Ink, Paper and link up a card for this fun sketch challenge!

Have a blessed day!  Tina

OSAT April Flower Power Blog Hop

Hello my friends!  I hope you've had a wonderful week!  I'm so thankful that I'm off on Good Friday so I have a nice long Easter weekend to enjoy with some gorgeous weather!  We aren't even traveling this weekend so hopefully I can enjoy a little bit of down time!  The older I get, the more I need it!  lol  Well since it is not only Thursday, but the 2nd Thursday of the month, that means it's time for another One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop!  This month's theme is Flower Power!  Who doesn't love flowers, right??

If you've already been hopping, you should have landed here from the fabulous blog of Melissa Davies!  Isn't she awesome??!!  If you happened to start at my blog, you'll want to make sure you hop along and check out all of the flower power inspiration of our 15 bloggers by clicking the next button at the end of my post!

So for my card I wanted to try a new product... Kuretake Gansai Tambi Pearl.  I need a little practice with them but they are fun to play with!  I started off by Heat embossing flowers and leaves from the My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers Stamp Set in white onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Pearl Watercolor Paints to paint in the images.  I then die cut with the Fancy Flowers dies .  After die cutting I used Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and inked the edges of the flowers, and Peeled Paint Distress Ink on the edges of my leaves.   For my stems I used some scraps of White cardstock and ink blended more of the Peeled Paint Distress Ink and then hand cut some stems.  The Fancy Flowers set had stems in the set but I wanted a longer stem and felt like ink blending and cutting would work just fine.  I adhered the stems and leaves with Tombow Multipurpose Glue directly onto my Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card Base.  The flowers were popped up with foam tape. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Banners Stamp set was heat embossed in White on Basic Black cardstock and adhered with Tear Tape.   I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in pink and yellow to finish this one off.  It ended up a super simple card but I really love the simplicity of it!

I decided for my project to use the Stampin' Up! Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to make a small treat bag as a holder for a gift card.  I used the Lawn Fawn Rainbow Perfectly Plaid Paper Stack for my treat bag.  I added the awesome sentiment from April's Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month for the treat bag.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white on more Basic Black Cardstock and then cut into a tag with the Reverse Confetti Tag Me Confetti Cuts Dies.  I ran a piece of green seam binding through the tag and tied a piece of natural thread around it.  I adhered the tag with foam tape.  I  painted some of the Pink Kuretake Gansai Tambi Pearl white cardstock and heat set it.  I used more of the Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to Ink the edges and then punched some flowers with the Stampin' Up! Pansy Punch and Petite Petals punch.  I used my Bone Folder to add some curve to the flower petals.  For the larger flower, I layered two of the pansy punches and one of the petite petals punch with glue dots.  Once the flower was assembled, I added it with foam tape to the front of my treat bag.  I added a yellow pretty pink posh sequin in the center.  The small flower was a one layer Petite Petals punch that had a yellow sequin in the center.  I then added several Pretty Pink Posh sequins in both yellow and pink to finish this one off.

SIP #94 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Hello friends!  We have had such a gorgeous weekend here in Middle Tennessee!  I hope you did as well.  Saturday morning was a little cool but by Sunday afternoon it was in the 70's and absolutely gorgeous!  My hubby is off work until the Wednesday after Easter and I have to admit that with this gorgeous weather, I'm pretty envious!  It was back to work for me on Monday.

Well since it is Tuesday, that means another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this time we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!  I had just a couple of other Easter Cards to finish up so this one worked with that need perfectly!

Are you tired of My Lawn Fawn Rainbow Perfectly Plaid yet?  I just adore this paper so I had to get another use out of it. lol  Also this adorable Hero Arts March 2017 My Monthly Hero  kit with the Bunnies.. they are just too stinkin' cute!

I started with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of 110# Neenah Crest Solar White that was scored at 5 1/2.  I used Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Dies to cut my Lawn Fawn Rainbow Perfectly Plaid panel.  The smaller panel was 80# Neenah Crest Solar White cardstock that had Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink blended onto it with a Ink Blending Tool.  I added more of the Rainbow Plaid in green that was cut with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Die Cut onto the bottom of the ink blended layer.  Once the grassy border was attached to the ink blended panel, I cut it out with a smaller of the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Dies. My bunnies from the Hero Arts March 2017 My Month Hero Kit were stamped onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Ink and heat set.  I used Zig Clean Color Markers to color in my bunnies.  The one on the left is glued directly onto the card panel and the bunny on the right is attached with foam tape.   I cut happy easter with the Lawn Fawn "easter border" die out of white cardstock and then a piece of the Rainbow blue plaid.  I layered them just a little offset so that the white would peek through to add some dimension.  The words were then attached with a Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Lastly I added three Pretty Pink Posh sequins with more of the Fine Tip Glue Pen to finish it off.  I think it turned out super cute.

SIP #93 Coming Up Flowers Challenge with Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy

Hello!  I hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start.  I went to Knoxville last weekend to visit my granddaughters.  My 7 year old granddaughter, Taylor, had her tonsils and adenoids out last Thursday and I wanted to give my daughter a hand with her.  Taylor has been very rebellious in taking her medicine.  I'm afraid that she takes after me in that she can hardly drink gross stuff.  Bless her heart.  All of her medicine is liquid and none of it tastes good.   She always feels much better when she gets it down but it is so stressful trying to drink it!

Well since it is Tuesday, that means it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week it's all about flowers.  How fun is that??

http://stampinkpaper.com/2017/04/sip-challenge-93-coming-up-flowers/

I just received the awesome Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy Stamp Set so it was time to play!

This was such a super fun stamp set.  The colors that I used to layer were Stampin Up! Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Watermelon Wonder.  My cardbase was Stampin' Up! Watermelon Wonder Cardstock.  The top layer was Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# Cardstock.  I stamped the stems directly on the white layer with Stampin' Up! Mossy Meadow Ink (retired).  I added my stamped and die cut layers with Tombow Multipurpose glue and foam tape.  I used one of my Mama Elephant Borderlines Trio Creative Cuts  to cut a stitched curve on the bottom of the top layer before I layered it on the Watermelon Wonder Cardstock.  I added three Pretty Pink Posh Dew Drops with some Ranger Multi Medium Mat Adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
