The Spot Challenge #163 Sketch Challenge with the beautiful Expressions in Ink Suite from Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends!  I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!!  I had a wonderful weekend with lots of crafting time!  I finally received my first shipment from the New Stampin' Up! Catalog and I can tell you one suite is really standing out to me... Expressions in Ink!  It is absolutely stunning!!  I fell in love with it when I first saw the new Annual Catalog!  The DSP with the Alcohol Ink look and the gold is absolutely amazing!  The stamps are some of the most fab images I have seen!  It is seriously hard to describe the look that can be achieved from just rubber stamps, ink and paper!  So... since it is Tuesday it's time for another Design Team post for the New Challenge over at The Spot Challenge Blog!

Cute Sketch, right?  Of course I had to take advantage of the beautiful new Expressions In Ink Suite for this week's card.  I hope you love this suite as much as I do!

When I saw the sketch, I thought of a little fun fold that uses two different DSPs.  I have no idea what it's called but it's a simple one with just an extra score line.

Here's another look at it...

I started with a Magenta Madness Card Base that measured 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at 4" and 5-1/2".  I layered on a layer of Evening Evergreen Cardstock that measured 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" that was scored 1-1/4" and adhered to the front card panel making sure that the score line matches up with the score line on the Magenta Madness Card Base.  Next I layered on two coordinating panels of the Expressions in Ink DSP that measured 1-1/8" x 3-3/4" and 3-7/8" x 3/3/4".  The left portion of the card before the scoreline was adhered with Multipurpose Adhesive.  I ran some of white baker's twine around that section twice and knotted it at the top and added a small piece of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon before tying the knot.  The tag was cut in Evening Evergreen Cardstock using the Tailor Made Tag Dies.  The little reinforcement piece of the tag was cut in the new Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.  On a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock I stamped the flower from the Artistically Inked Stamp set in Pale Papaya.  I also stamped the three small flowers from the set in Magenta Madness.  The flowers were then cut out using the coordinating Artistic Dies.  I stamped the best wishes sentiment from the stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed it in gold.  I ran a small piece of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon through the hole in the tag and adhered the tag to the front of the card making sure it was not adhered to the portion of the card that does not open so that the tag would not bend.  With glue dots I added some of the Gold leaves from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and then added the large flower with Dimensionals and two of the three smaller flowers with Mini Dimensionals.  The smallest of the three flowers was adhered with a glue dot.  Finally I added three of the adhesive backed sequins from the Ephemera Pack to the tag to finish off the front of the card.

For the inside..

The inside layer was a 3-7/8" x 4" panel of Basic White.  I stamped some of the images from the stamp set on the lower left corner in Pale Papaya, Magenta Madness and Just Jade ink before adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the inside.

That's it for my card share today.  I hope you loved it as much as I did.  Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #162 - Case the Designer Maheswari Rajaguru with Sweet as a Peach Bundle from Stampin' Up!

Hi There!  It's a Tuesday so of course that means it's time for another Design Team card for The Spot Creative Challenge Blog.  This week we are casing the fabulous Designer, Maheswari Rajaguru.  If you've been following her, then you know.... all of her cards are amazing!

Let me tell you that I really wanted to case them all!  I decided on this card...

Isn't it absolutely gorgeous!  I have linked her blog post to the picture, so feel free to click on it to go to Maheswari's blog!  So that my card would be a little different, I chose to use the Sweet as a Peach Bundle and coordinating You're a Peach DSP!  Here's what I came up with...

I started out with a Thick Basic White A2 Card base measuring 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4" on the long side for a side folding card.  My first panel of DSP from the You're a Peach DSP pack measured 4" x 5-1/4".  My 2nd panel from the DSP measured 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" and was cut with a die from the Penned Flowers Dies on the very edge of the right side to make that beautiful scallop edge.  This DSP panel was matted on Old Olive Cardstock that measured 3" x 4-3/4" with Multipurpose liquid adhesive.  I added the matted panel with Dimensionals.  I stamped the leaf images from the Sweet as a Peach Stamp set in Old Olive.  The peach was stamped in Pale Papaya and highlighted with Flirty Flamingo Ink by dabbing the stamp with a sponge dauber prior to stamping.  The flowers were stamped in Pale Papaya ink with the center added in Flirty Flamingo Ink.  The sentiment Let's Celebrate you! from the stamp set was stamped onto a small scrap of Basic White and cut using the cut little slanted sentiment die from the coordinating Peach Dies.  I added a small Old Olive strip slightly under and to the right of the die cut that measured 1-7/8" x 3/8".  I added a small double bow of White Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials pack under the sentiment with a glue dot.  To finish off the card front I added three of the Genial Gems in Pale Papaya.

Here's how I finished off the inside of the card..

Super simple stamping on the inside from the stamp set to finish off the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #161 - Color Challenge with Stampin' Up! Positive Thoughts Simple Stamping Square Card

Good Tuesday Morning!  Now that I have retired from my day job, every day seems like a Saturday!  I have a fun card to share with you today for The Spot's Color Challenge.  If you click the challenge graphic below, you can see what the rest of the Design Team has created with these fun colors!

I loved these colors!  Fresh Freesia is one of the new In Colors and is such a pretty light purple and  Granny Apple Green will forever be my favorite green!

This week's card is square and truly is just simple stamping and layering.  Even though the beautiful Positive Thoughts stamp set has coordinating dies (Nature's Thoughts Dies), I just fussy cut that butterfly because I wanted the butterfly stamped under it on the card front to show up.  I stamped the fern branch in Granny Apple Green and the flower in both Magenta Madness and Fresh Freesia onto a panel of Basic White.   The sentiment was stamped onto the top in Magenta Madness.  I liked that the sentiment was partially stamped over the flowers and fern leaves!   I stamped the butterfly onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto the card front as well as onto Watercolor paper (Fluid 100) in Black Stazon.  The butterfly on the Watercolor Paper was watercolored using Fresh Freesia and Magneta Madness Ink. After I fussy cut the butterfly, I attached the body with glue dots and added Dimensionals under the wings so that they were raised up.   The Basic White Card Front measured 4" x 4" and was layered on a 4-1/8" x 4-1/8" Basic Black.  I used my Black Stampin Write Marker to add some black splatters to the card front and then some black twine across the lower part of the layered card front, tied into a bow on the left side.  I used Dimensionals to then add it to a Magenta Madness 8-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base, scored at 4-1/4".  Super Simple Stamping but so cute!

Thanks so much to stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
