Hi There! Sorry I've haven't posted any card making tips the last couple of days. My husband had ankle surgery on Wednesday and it's been just a little crazy around here. He can't put any weight on his left leg at all so he's trying to hop on his right food with the crutches. I'm not sure if you've ever tried doing that but it is definitely hard to do. The doctor prescribed him a knee walker that would make getting around a bit easier but it hasn't come in yet. I will sure be happy when he gets it but for now I guess it's best that he takes it easy and not try to be up and doing too much. This cast will be on his leg for 8 weeks so this is seeming like a really long road. Hopefully it will get better and better each day.
I did want to pop on here for a minute and share a card that I made in between my hubby's calls for water, food, or just general help...
I love the beautiful Many Layered Blossoms Dies. The stamp set is awesome too and has great sentiments but for this card, I used just the dies along with a sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. This is my first try and fussy cutting the sentiment and I think I did an ok job on it. So for today's card I started with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Magenta Madness Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding card. I added a piece of Basic Black cardstock that measured 5 3/8 " 4 1/8" and then a layer of 2020 - 2022 In Colors DSP in Magenta Madness Woodgrain that measured 5 1/4" x 4" . Next I cut the larger of the many layered blossoms dies in Basic Black and in White (for the pieced pieces inside the blossoms). The more detailed of the many layered blossoms dies was cut in Magenta Madness. I layered on the Basic Black diecut panel first with a few dots of Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. Next I adhered the detailed diecut over the black with more of the Multipurpose Adhesive. Finally I took the inner part of the blossoms from the white die cut and puzzle-pieced them into the flowers. Honestly, this was the fun part. Obviously it takes a little time to do it but if you love puzzles, it is really fun! Finally I stamped the "Let's Clebrate You" sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set in Versamark onto a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock and then heat embossed it in White. I used my paper snips to fussy cut the sentiment and then added some mini-dimensionals to adhere over the layered blossoms panel. To finish this off I added three on the In Color Enamel Dots in Magenta Madness.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings, Tina
