PCC317 Sketch Challenge - Christmas Card!

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I know I've been M.I.A. at Paper Craft Crew lately but I'm back this week with a Christmas Card based on the sketch.  I hope to be around more in the coming weeks :)

The sketch really looks more like a square card but I went with a standard A2 top-folding card.

I used all retired products for this one.  I don't know if you do the same but if I love a stamp set or Patterned Paper.... I try to keep it around a little while.  The Poinsetta Burst stamp set and Paper came from Fun Stampers Journey last year during their Christmas release.  The Patterned Paper was from the same release... I can't think of the name of it though.  I bought quite a bit of the paper because it has such fun yet classic Christmas designs.  I will probably use it all up by the time I finish my Christmas cards though!  At least the stamp set will hang around for a while.  The glitter cardstock that I used for the strip as well as the banner are from Concord and 9th!  I love their glitter paper!

SIP Challenge #145 Ombre with Coffee Helps

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  It was soooo cold here this past weekend.  It's so hard to believe that it's April and still this cold.  It even snowed in some places nearby where we live.  This is definitely out of character for a Middle Tennessee April!   I am soooo ready for warm weather!  I'm hoping we will have it very soon!

Well it is another Tuesday so you know what that means... it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  This week's challenge is Ombre!  One of my favorite Distress Ink techniques!

I have to be honest.. I love the Ombre look but this color combination is a little out of my comfort zone.  I would usually go for a blue ombre since I have so many distress inks in blue.  Obviously you can use any type of  ink to make an ink blended background but I think distress inks blend so beautifully and especially on Bristol Smooth Cardstock!  I decided that since I wanted to do a coffee theme I would go with yellow to orange using Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade for my colors.

I adore this sentiment from this coffee set from Fun Stamper's Journey.  I purchased this from my FSJ friend and coach Jeanne Bobish.  She was sweet enough to send me their new Spring to Summer Stamp Set and knowing that I love all things coffee.. there were a couple of sets I had to have.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings!  Tina

PCC258 Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge with FSJ Poinsettia Burst

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  We made it to mid-week so Woo Hoo!   Hopefully it's been a good week for you.  So far it seems like I'm going to have to cram 5 days of work into 4 since we were off on Monday.  But I really think being off work a day was worth it!  Since it is Wednesday, that means it's time for a new Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week's sketch is super cute!

I decided to try as much as possible to get Christmas Cards made early so I took this sketch and an awesome FSJ Stamp Set called Poinsettia Burst to knock one out!

I tried to stay fairly close to the sketch but as usual I took a little bit of artistic liberty!  lol

I started with an A2 Card Base made of FSJ Frest Forest Cardstock.  I added a thin layer of SU Gold Glimmer Cardstock.  My next layer was FSJ Whipped Cream Cardstock that was embossed with the SU Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder.  I ran a piece of green and white washi tape across it and tucked it behind each of the sides and then added it to the gold layer with foam tape... It's a little hard to adhere to the Gold Glimmer Cardstock so I felt the foam tape was a safe option.  My middle panel was a piece of FSJ Whipped Cream Cardstock that measured 3 7/8" x 2 7/8" and was matted with a piece of 4" x 3" Fresh Forest.  I cut a small layer of distressed wood paper from the SU Wood Textures DSP stack for the bottom of the center layer.  I used my Misti to stamp the Merry Christmas Sentiment from FSJ Holiday Wishes Stamp Set in FSJ Candy Apple Ink.  My poinsettia was also stamped in Candy Apple Ink onto Whipped Cream Cardstock.  The leaves for the poinsettia were stamped in SU Garden Green Ink and the Pine Boughs were stamped in SU Emerald Envy.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.  I added a little Clear Wink of Stella to the poinsettia and then attached everything to my middle panel with Foam Tape.   I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White to the center of the Poinsettia.  Finally I added some Gold Metallic Dots to finish this one off!  Well that's it one more Christmas card down!  Yay me!!

Have a wonderful day!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #115 Color Challenge with FSJ An Adventure Stamp Set

Hello and Happy Tuesday... but it feels like Monday!  I really enjoyed being off Labor Day but it sure puts a damper on Tuesday!  So of course Tuesday means another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this is probably my favorite Color Challenge that we've had... Aqua, Gray and Light Yellow!  I immediately thought of an ocean scene and that brought me to this super cute stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey called An Adventure!  It's an adorable ATS (Artist Trading Stamp) that is only $8.95..  What a deal!!!  This is my first time to use it and I really am loving it!

So for this one I started with a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I used a ink blending tool and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China and Cracked Pistachio for the Ink Blended Background.  This is the first time I had used the Distress Oxides and they are awesome!  Seriously they blend so smooth on the Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I started with Cracked Pistachio on the bottom and Broken China on the top and then blended it down into the Pistachio.  After I had it all blended I spritzed it with my Distress Water Mister and then laid a paper towel over it to absorb the ink.  It made such a lovely ocean background!  Next I stamped the Submarine from the An Adventure Stamp Set onto some Watercolor Paper.. this was a mistake.  Although it all turned out well, I should have used Bristol Smooth for the Submarine.  My Brother Scan-n-Cut cut out the Submarine for me since I had not purchased the coordinating die for the stamp set.  I used Zig Clean Color Markers to color it in and this is where I noticed that watercolor paper does not blend like Bristol Smooth.  It took several layers of color and Clear Wink of Stella to make it look right.  I really should have just stamped it again on Bristol but I was determined to make it work.  I'm seriously hard-headed like that!  lol  Once I decided where I wanted my Submarine I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment in just the right spot.  I love the Misti because I can continue to stamp in the exact same place several times.  I stamped the sentiment with FSJ Black Licorice Ink and then clear embossed it.   Ok, so you know that I can't make a card with just one stamp set.. right??  So I wanted to add some fish so  I stamped the Fish and Seahorse from a Hero Arts May 2017 My Monthly Hero Set.  They were just the right size to go with my Submarine!  I stamped them in Versafine Black Onyx Ink onto a scrap of Bristol Smooth Cardstock (lesson learned!) and then clear embossed them.  I used Zig Clean Color Markers and an Aqua Painter to color then.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out but then decided there was too much white showing so I fussy cut right up to the black line on them.   I attached them to my background with Ranger Multi Medium in Matt Finish.  My Submarine was then attached with Foam Tape....... and a LOT of it!  I matted this in my very favorite Yellow Cardstock.... FSJ Banana Cream.  I LOVE this color!!  I then matted that with FSJ River Stone Cardstock and then mounted the entire panel on an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Banana Cream scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding card base. Last but certainly not least I added some Lucy's Cards Rainbow Sparkle Mix Jewels with Ranger Multi Medium Matt!   I adore all things Nautical but I think this is one of my favorites of all of the ones I've made!   I can't wait to make more Under the Sea backgrounds... I'm heading to do that now!  If you haven't given it a try.. go do it!  It's a blast!

Blessings, Tina

SIP Challenge #107 Tic-Tac-Toe with Flower Swirls by FSJ

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope your week is off to a fabulous start!  My weekends have been super busy the last few weeks as I've been enjoying some time with my beautiful granddaughters!  And then of course the weeks are always busy this time of year with my job.  I'm hoping to retire in about four years and maybe I can spend more time doing the things I love and crafting of course is one of them!

Well since today is Tuesday, that of course means it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

I went horizontal on the top row on this board with Blue, Die Cut, and Twine.  I used a fun new Flower Swirls Bundle by Fun Stamper's Journey for my floral images on this one!

My background paper was from the FSJ Designer Choice Prints.  I adhered a full 4 1/4 " 5" panel of it to a Neenah Classic Solar White Card Base.  I heat embossed the sentiment from MFT You Give Me Butterflies Stamp Set.  The Flower Swirls were stamped onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock and loosely colored with Zig Clean Color Markers and blended with an Aqua Painter.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out once dry.  I added some splatters of FSJ Gold Silk. I added some Black Twine onto the cardfront with Foam Squares and adhered my flowers over the twine to finish this one off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
