OSAT Blog Hop - Boys in The Hood June 2021 Masculine Themed Card with Hats Off Bundle

Hi There!  I'm over with the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop Team today with a Masculine Hard using the Hats Off Bundle in the new Annual Catalog!  It's a super fun  theme and I've had such a blast playing with this fabulous new Hats Off Bundle!

If you are starting at my blog, please make sure you hop all the way through for some fabulous inspiration!  If you started at another blog, thanks for continuing on!

Here's a look at my Gatefold Hats Off Father's Day Card.

I loved the combination of the Woodgrain DSP and the Distressed Cap!

I LOVE this Hats Off Bundle!  For my card today I used a half sheet of Evening Evergreen Cardstock that measured 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", and scored the 8-1/2" side at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8".  I used my bone folder to burnish the score lines.  On each of the two sides I added a panel of 2-1/16" x 5-7/16" of Crumb Cake Cardstock and added a layer of the In Good Taste DSP in the distressed woodgrain pattern that measured 2" x 5-6/16".  I used the New 2021-2023 In Colors DSP in the Evening Evergreen plaid pattern to cut out the cap.  I also cut a hat out of Evening Evergreen and Crumb Cake Cardstock.  The bill of the Evening Evergreen cap was cut off right above the stitched line and adhered to the plaid cap.  The Crumb Cake cap was adhered to the back of the DSP cap to strengthen it.   The cap emblem was stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink onto Basic White Cardstock as was the You're The Best Label.  The sentiment label measured 2" x 3/4" and was matted with 2-1/8" x 7/8" strip of Evening Evergreen DSP and then added to the same size of Crumb Cake Cardstock to strengthen it as well.  Crumb Cake Baker's Twine was run around the left side of the label three times and tied in a knot in the front.  Prior to adhering both the label and the hat,  I used a small wire brush to distress the edges of the bill of the hat, the hat emblem and the Sentiment label.

I love how the distressing added interest and texture to the card front!  I think it's my favorite part of this card!  Distressed caps are such an "In" thing right now!

Here's how I finished up the Inside...

The inside card panel of Basic White measured 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and was matted on Crumb Cake Cardstock measured 4" x 5-1/4".  I used Inspired Thoughts stamp set for the fabulous sentiment .  This card is for my son-in-law for both his birthday and Father's Day so I love that this was a great sentiment and perfectly generic enough that I can write in what ever I want to go with it.

I also threw together a super easy and quick gift bag..

I had some plain white bags from the Dollar Store so I grabbed one and stamped some caps and emblems, as well as a few stars, on the bag with Crumb Cake Ink.  The tag was cut with the Tailor Made Tags Dies from Crumb Cake and Evening Evergreen cardstock and stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink.  I tied it on with some Crumb Cake  Baker's Twine.  It was certainly simple  but for Masculine gift bags sometimes simple is the best!

The Spot Challenge #164 - Let's Hear it for the Boys! Masculine Card Challenge with Sailing Home

Hello and Happy Tuesday!! I hope you were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend for sunny weather and time with family!  Since it is Tuesday, it is time for another Creative Challenge over at The Spot!  This week it is all about Masculine Cards!  I hope you'll stop by and check it out!

I just realized that I have hardly played around with the Sailing Home stamp set.  It is perfect for masculine cards!  I did a little #simplestamping to make this card and I love how it turned out.

I went with a landscape gatefold base of Balmy Blue and layered with Night of Navy and the Plaid Balmy Blue DSP from the Subtles 6"x 6" DSP Assortment.  The center panel is Basic White matted with Night of Navy.  Using Balmy Blue ink, I stamped the birds and the compass.  I added the Thanks in Night of Navy Ink as well as the boat that was stamped over the compass.  I ran some of the White Baker's Twine along the right side of the front panel twice and tied it in a bow towards the top.  I frayed the ends of the twine just a bit.

Here's how I finished the inside...

I matted the Basic White inside panel on Night of Navy.  I used Balmy Blue Ink to stamp the compass on the lower right corner and Night of Navy Ink to stamp the Lighthouse over it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

OSAT Blog Hop Manly May

Hi There!  It's hard to believe it's already the 2nd Thursday in May!  Of course that means it's time for another One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop!  This month's theme is all about the Men!  If you've already been hopping, then thanks so much for continuing on!  If you are starting with me, please make sure you continue on the hop because you'll find tons of inspiration from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the Globe!  Have fun!

I made an adorable Double Z fold card with the help of the By The Dock Bundle!  I love Fun Folds.. don't you?  This amazing set came out in the January - June 2020 Mini Catalog and thankfully will be carrying over to the New 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalog!  I added some stitched rectangles, stitched shape dies and layering circle dies to help get this one all layered up!

You can use the small Pool Party box in the bottom right to write a short note or you can add a panel of Whisper White Cardstock to the Back of the Card to write more!

I also used some of the soon to be retired Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper to make a small Curvy Keepsake Treat Box.  The tag was cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock and tied on with some Whisper White Baker's Twine.

SIP Challenge #102 Masculine Card Challenge

Hello and Happy Tuesday!   How's your week going so far?  We've had lots of rain over the weekend but at least it has cooled it off just a bit.  On Saturday, my hubby and I went to Knoxville to watch my sweet granddaughter Taylor play softball!  She is only 7 and is really doing so well.  It fun to watch how much she's progressed just over the last couple of years.

Well since today is Tuesday, it's time for another SIP Challenge!   Today is all about Masculine Cards!  With Father's Day coming up, this should be a popular challenge!

First of all if you know me at all, you know that I LOVE masculine cards.  I can't seem to think masculine without the tried and true, now retired sets by Stampin' Up! .... Traveler and World Map.  They are definitely two of my all time favorite stamps sets and I will never let them go! lol

I was able to purchase the coordinating dies for Traveler from Dies by Dave a while back.  I am so glad I did.  I have fussy cut this train so many times and it sure is wonderful to have the die!   For this fun card I started with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of SU Basic Black cardstock scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding card.  I added a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" corrugated cardstock from my stash with fast fuse.  I slanted it a bit to the left side.  My top layer is a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of #80 Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock.  I stamped the world map stamp with Sahara Sand SU Ink.  I used some SU Crumb Cake Ink to ink the edges.  I stamped the train with FSJ Black Licorice Ink and the suitcase with SU Soft Suede Ink.  I used the dies from Dies by Dave to cut the images out and popped them up with 3M Foam Tape.  I stamped the "Im here for you" sentiment from the SU You've Got This stamp set with FSJ Black Licorice Ink.  I added some FSJ Natural Twine and then added this layer scued to the right with Fast Fuse.  I used the edge of my scissors to add a bit of curl to my twine to finish this one off.  Simple card but super cute I think!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

ICS Blog Hop Guy's Night Out

Hello and welcome to Inspire, Create, & Share's June Blog Hop!  This month's theme is all about the Guys!  If you have landed here by way of Terri Takashige's awesome blog, then thank you for continuing on!  If you started with my blog, make sure you click the next button at the bottom of my post so you can continue on for some more guy card inspiration!

If you have followed my blog at all, you should know that I make a lot of Nautical themed cards so guy card's aren't hard for me at all.  Well today I went nautical with my first card and nuts with my second! lol

I was so happy that the awesome stamp set From Land to Sea was being carried over to the new catalog! Today's card uses a sponged background of a shore, sea, and sunset along with the stamped lighthouse from the awesome stamp set.  You may also notice a little bit of marsh stamped on the left side.  That is from the Wetlands Stamp Set.  Instead of using the window framelit I made a picture window by using the new Nesting Square Framelits.  I am really going to love those new framelits!  I also put a small 1/4" strip of the white between the black cardstock on the bottom of the card and the black from the Neutrals Collection DSP stack on the top of the card.  I used a piece of window sheet inside the window frame so that it really does look like a window.  It's a little difficult to tell in the picture that the window sheet is there.  The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set and coordinating Duet Banner Punch.  In case the scene looks familiar, I made a card on an earlier post that was the same sponged and stamped scene.  Lately I have been doing a lot of duplicate scenes when sponging but using them on different cards or in a different way.  If you want to see my original card using this scene click here.

For my second card.. yep, you'll see I really did go nuts and quite messy!

I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Sahara Sand Cardbase that was scored at 4 1/4".  I punched out some acorns in Sahara Sand Cardstock with my Acorn Builder Punch and then sponged them with Sahara Sand Ink around the edges.  I adhered them with Tombow Multipurpose glue to the front of my cardbase.  I used some Gold Thread to run around my card front three times and knotted it in the middle front.  In the middle I added a Gold Foil Doily and then a 2" circle of Sahara Sand that was also sponged around the edges.  I stamped my Nuts About You Acorn image with Versamark onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I then made some loops with my gold thread onto the front of the circle and kept in place with dimensionals.  I punched out my embossed acorn and placed in the center over the thread and dimensionals.  I thinned out some Tombow Multipurpose Glue with some water and used my aqua painter to splatter some of the thinned out glue onto my card and then sprinkled some Gold Glitter over the glue.  I used a dry brush to brush off the excess.  As you can see quite a bit of it stuck. :)  I added a strand of Gold Sequin Trim in the upper left corner to finish this one off.  So this was a little nutty and a little mess but still super cute I think!

Next up on the hop is my friend, Megan Thompson, just click the next button to continue on to her blog!

May D's Stamping Team USA Masculine Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the May Blog Hop of D's Stamping Team USA.  This month's theme is Masculine Cards.  Of course if you've already been hopping by way of Nichole Smith's awesome blog.. well then you already know the theme! If you've started with me, make sure you click the next button at the bottom of my post so you can check out the other blogs.  We have a few folks traveling this month so this is a short hop.. more like a skip.  You'll enjoy the awesome inspiration though!

You know I hear so many people say masculine cards are hard but for me they never are.  I always just think about what my Hubby would love... ships, trains, fishing, dogs, nature, humor, or even flowers as we love to garden together.  Stampin' Up! has so many cool stamp sets for masculine cards!  For today's card I used the fabulous Acorny Thank You Stamp Set.  I was so thrilled that this stamp set and coordinating Acorn Punch carried over to the new catalog.  It is a super fun set!

For today's card I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Sahara Sand cardstock that was scored at 4 1/4".  I added a thin 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Real Red Cardstock, and then a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock that has been embossed with a Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  Next is a strip of 1" Sahara Sand cardstock that was cut with the Triple Banner Punch to end up as a 5 1/4" long banner.  I then used my Acorny Thank You Stamp Set to stamp the acorns in Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip and Real Red Ink.  I used Sahara Sand Cardstock to stamp the Chocolate Ship and Sahara Sand Ink on but for the Real Red Ink I stamped on Very Vanilla.  Once I had my acorns stamped and punched I adhered them with a combination of Tombow Adhesive and Dimensionals.  On the "Nuts About You" acorn, I added a little bow of Linen Thread to the stem.  I came really close to adding sequins but decided against it as I didn't want to take away from the woodgrain embossed layer.  I hope you like my card as much as I do.  If you don't already have this awesome Stamp Set and Bundle, let me tell you.. YOU NEED IT!

Next up is my friend Megan Thompson's blog!  Make sure you click the next button and you'll be there!
