The Spot Challenge #108 - Mother's Day

Hi There!  I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday so far!  Are you still hunkered down at home to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 Virus!  I think Tennessee is about to get back to work in one more week or at least most of the state anyway.  Some places are still seeing a lot of new cases daily and may take a bit longer to get back in gear.

This week's Challenge at The Spot is a Mother's Day Card Challenge.  I needed to make two Mother's Day cards so this one was just in time for me.

I went with a layered look with the new Ornate Layers Dies but went a little more casual in color and pattern for my sweet Mom.  She's a country girl at heart so the Gingham DSP was a good fit.

I used the It's your time to shine from the Daisy Lane stamp set.  I added the "Mom," with the Make a Difference Stamp set.  I love that you can put those beautiful letters together to make any name or word.  It's such a great set to have on hand.  The flowers were stamped in Balmy Blue that had been stamped off for a lighter look and then punched out with the Medium Daisy Punch.  I used the light Balmy Blue Blends Marker to color in the center.  I finished it off with three sequins.

All of the Details are below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

Card Base - 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" Thick Whisper White, socred at 4 1/4"

SIP #197 Something for Mom

Hi There!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  Stamp, Ink, Paper has a Something for Mom Challenge this week, just in time for Mother's Day!

I made a super simple card using Concord & 9th Double Cut Alphabet Dies, CZ Designs SSS Simple Sentiments II You are Loved Stamp Set, and DSP!

Since I'm still in a use up my DSP/Patterned Paper kind of Mood, this one took very little stamping!  The beautiful DSP was the perfect background!  I used Stampin' Up Berry Burst Cardstock and Neenah 110# Crest Classic Solar White Card stock.  The sentiment from my new favorite sentiment set, CZ Designs SSS Simple Sentiments II You are Loved was heat embossed in white on a thin strip of Berry Burst Cardstock.  Such a simple card but I think super pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

SIP Challenge #148 - Farmhouse Chic with Corcord & 9th Barnwood, Petals and Pallets

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is off to an awesome start!  It was a gorgeous weekend here in Middle Tennessee.  I've still been a little under the weather but the beautiful sunshine shining down on me this past weekend sure made me feel just a little bit better!

Are you ready for the coolest card challenge ever??  Stamp, Ink, Paper has an awesome one this week!  If you've been into Fixer Upper, Shiplap, and Farmhouses then you will love this one!

I used a couple of favorites from Concord & 9th... Barnwood Background Stamp and the Petals and Pallets Bundle!

Isn't that Barnwood Background Stamp awesome???  I embossed it in White on Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand Cardstock for my card front.  The pallet was cut out of Copper Foil Cardstock that was wiped with some Black Archival Ink to give it a bit of an aged look.  The flowers from the Petals and Pallets stamp set were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive and Pistachio Pudding.  The flowers and leaves were layered in with Dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #97 - Mother's Day Challenge with Stampin' Up! Perfect Mix

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope everything is going well for you this week.  I had a nice relaxing weekend which made going back to work on Monday a bit easier.  We've had a lot of rain but hopefully that will bring forth some gorgeous May flowers!  My clematis and roses have already started blooming!  Jeff and I plan on doing some landscaping to our back yard this summer so I'll need to sit down and plan it out before we get started.  Planning it is the best part!

Well since it is Tuesday, you know that means it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week is all about Mother's Day!

Have you ever seen a stamp set that you think is just so adorable that you have to have it.. well from the looks of my craft room, I see them all the time but Perfect Mix was one of those for me.  It's just an adorable stamp set with some cute sentiments.. some are even puns!  I love a good pun!

Here's how I used it today..

My card base is a SU Island Indigo 11" x 4 1/4" top folding card base, scored at 5 1/2.   I added a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Solar White Cardstock that was embossed with a Darice Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  The plaid paper on the bottom is Lawn Fawn Rainbow Perfectly Plaid.  I folded a portion of a doily over it.  I stamped everything on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Black Versafine Ink and heat set it.  I then used my Zig Clean Color Markers and an aqua painter to color in my images.  I fussy cut the bowl, spatula and mixer and adhered them to the front with foam tape.   For the measuring spoons and sentiment I cut it out with the the SU square layering dies and cut a scallop border out of Island Indigo.  I stamped "Mom" from the SU Thoughtful Banners stamp set under the measuring spoons and adhered it on the upper right side with more foam tape.  I ran some Natural Thread across the top and tied it in a small bow in the upper left side.  I used the side of my scissors to add a little curl to the bottom of twine.

The inside sentiment is from the Oh So Succulent Stamp set.  I added a strip of the same plaid paper that I used on the front to the inside bottom.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
