PCC244 Sketch Challenge - FSJ Beautiful Happiness

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  Is it Summer where you live yet?  Today it was in the high 80's and it seemed even hotter!  I have the feeling it is going to be a long hot summer.   Well since today is Wednesday it is time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week's sketch is super fun!

Isn't this one awesome??  So since I am all about some watermelon during the hot summer I decided to use the Fun Stamper's Journey Beautiful Happiness stamp set for this one.  I decided to turn the sketch upside down for my card!

I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" FSJ River Stone cardstock base that was scored at 4 1/4".  I added a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I did a little messy watercolor wash with Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink.  I added a few splatters of FSJ Cranberry Silk and then dried it with my heat tool.  I added some Silver Journey Thread.  I stamped my Watermelon and Leaves with Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto more of the Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I used Tim Holtz Fired Brick, Crushed Olive, and Peeled Paint Distress Ink and my Aqua Painter to color my watermelon and leaves. I used a Black medium tip marker to color in the seeds and then added a little Glossy Accents to them.  I added a bit of Garden Green SU Ink to the leaves to distinguish them from the watermelon a bit.  I fussy cut out the melon and leaves and attached with foam tape over the thread.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black onto more of the FSJ River Stone cardstock.  I clear embossed it and then cut it into three strips.  That was all for this wild and crazy creation.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #70 - Tic Tac Toe

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope you are having a fabulous week!  I'm counting down to my vacation that is just 2 weeks away and getting more and more excited every day!  Today over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!

I totally had another card in mind but once I started working on my planned card I decided it against it.  Instead this is what I came up with!  This fit in right across the bottom row for Orange, Ribbon/Twine and Punch/Die Cut!

I started looking around my craft area and found some left over watercolor paper that already had a three color wash on it and had Gina Marie Oak Leaves die cut out of it.  I decided to cut the oak leaves out of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and inlay them into the negative space.   I cut the watercolor paper panel 3 3/4" x 5" and stamped the sentiment from the retired Lighthearted Leaves set in the lower left in Chocolate Chip Ink. The Pumpkin Pie Die Cut Oak Leaves were glued into the negative space with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I ran Tangerine Tango baker's twine along the left side three times and tied it in a bow toward the bottom.  I adhered this panel onto Old Olive A2 Card Base.  I was super happy with how it turned out!  I'm usually not a clean & simple girl but this is pretty close!

Layering Love Watercolor Wash for CYCI #124

Hello!  Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!  I love watercolor and I love sketches so today's CYCi #124 sketch was the perfect distraction for me today.

Here's my take on the sketch..

I started with a base of one of the new In Colors Sweet Sugarplum.  Layered on that is a piece of the Playful Palette DSP.. I absolutely LOVE this fun paper!  Next is a layer of watercolor paper that has a wash of Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach.  Once dried with my Heat Tool.. I can never just wait on something to dry!  I stamped the sentiment from Layering Love in Basic Black Archival Ink.  I also used Gorgeous Grunge to add to stamped splatters of Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Black.  I adhered this layer with Fast Fuse as it is a very strong hold and perfect for Watercolored Layers.  I then used my MFT Die-namics Zig Zag Rectangles to cut a shaker frame.  I added a few black sequins and some black seed beads to the shaker window.

SIP Challenge #47 - One Element Wonder

Hello!  What a wonderful weekend I had on Mother's Day Weekend!  I was able to see my daughter and two of my granddaughters on Saturday.  Taylor, my 6 year old granddaughter had a Softball Tournament in Dayton, TN which is pretty close to where I live so I was able to go watch her play.  She is such a joy.  I wish I could have stayed for the whole tournament and especially since they won!  Here's a picture of her with her trophy!  She recently lost her two front teeth.. lol  Isn't she just adorable! :)

After a fun Saturday, I was able to spend Mother's Day with my son and his sweet girlfriend, Kaci!  She is a fabulous cook and made Chicken Parmesan, Pasta and meatballs with her awesome Marinara, Roasted Garlic Bread, and we ended it with Brownies and Ice Cream!  Does that sound delicious or what??  Oh my.. I was so full I came straight home and took a 2 hour nap!  lol

Well, back to the weekly business.. I'm back over at Stamp, Ink, Paper today with my card for a One Element Wonder Challenge.
I can tell you right now that clean and simple is NOT my go to style.  I absolutely adore it but it doesn't come easy for me.  When I start adding to a card, I have a hard time stopping!  lol  Here's what I came up with for my One Element Wonder and this is about as CAS as I get...

I sure wish I could have taken a better picture because this is much more beautiful that the picture suggests.  I did a watercolor wash of Sahara Sand, and Tempting Turquoise onto a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Watercolor Paper.  I used my heat tool to dry it and then stamped the Seabird image in Stampin' Up! Black Archival Ink.  I used the same ink to stamp my greeting on the bottom right of the front panel. But here's where it gets super beautiful and I just counldn't get a picture that shows it.. ugh.. I sprayed that panel with some Glitter Dust Spray and it is Ah-mazing!!  Once that dried, I mounted the front panel onto a piece of 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock with Fast Fuse.  Next I mounted that onto an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2".  I hope you'll head over and check out our challenge and link up a One Element Wonder card of your own!

ICS Blog Hop Let's Sale-a-brate!

Hello and welcome to Inspire Create & Share's January 2016 Blog Hop!  We are Sale-A-Brating the new Sale-A-Bration Catalog as well as the Occasions Catalog that can help you earn free Products this month.  If you have been hopping along, you should have landed here from Terri Takashige's fabulous blog!   If you started with me, make sure you hop along and check out all of the awesome inspiration that the ICS Bloggers have to share with you this month!

I have to tell you.... I love pretty much EVERYTHING in these two catalogs!  Trying to decide which one to use was super hard for me!  In the end I had to go with the Sale-A-Bration Honeycomb Happiness because this little Chick was screaming at me to ink him up!

I love an open stamp that you can paper piece and this chick was just the perfect stamp for that.  I started with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Tempting Turquoise Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2".  I added a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Daffodil Delight Polka Dot DSP from the Brights DSP Paper Stack.  The middle section was a piece of 3" x 4 1/4" watercolor paper that I did a watercolor wash on the background.... the bottom was Pear Pizzazz, the middle section was Tempting Turquoise, and the upper section was Blushing Bride.  I used my heat tool to dry the background before stamping the chick with the Black Archival Ink.  I also stamped the chick onto the Script DSP  from the Brights DSP Paper Stack (on the reverse side of the polka dot).  I used my paper snips to cut out the chick ignoring the feet since it was already stamped onto the watercolor paper.  I glued my Script DSP chick onto the watercolor one with Tombow Multipurpose glue.  I used a Pumpkin Pie marker to color in his feet and beak.    The sentiment was stamped in Tempting Turquoise and the heart under the sentiment was punched using one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack in Tempting Turquoise and adhered with a glue dot.  I topped the punched heart with one of the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers.  I have to admit this is the first time I've used one of these Epoxy Stickers over a punch and can I just say WOW.. I love it!  I matted my watercolor paper with a 3 1/8 x 4 3/8" piece of Tempting Turquoise.  I ran a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Cotton Ribbon across the bottom and tied it in a bow on the right side.  I then adhered the entire layer onto the center of my card using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I really think it turned out super cute and hope you love it too!
