The Spot Challenge #111 - Sketch Challenge with a Square Card

Hi There.  Hope you are doing well!  It's Tuesday so that means another challenge over at The Spot!  This week's sketch is a fun one to check out!

There is always a battle as to how literal I will take a sketch challenge.  This time I was not very literal!  I wanted to use some of the retiring DSP and to make a square card that is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and to add a circle didn't leave a lot of room for the beautiful DSP to show so I did it my way!  lol

I started off with an 4 1/4 x 8 1/2" piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock and scored the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" for a square top folding card base. I added a 4 x 4" piece of the gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  I love this paper but then again.. I love birds!  I used the back side of the same piece of Bird Ballad DSP and adhered it to a scrap strip of Smoky Slate to add my vertical strip as per the sketch.  I stamped my flower from the Floral Essence bundle onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Terracotta Tile Ink.   I added the flower center in with Daffodil Delight ink.  The leaves were stamped with Old Olive and cut out the soon to be retired Leaf Punch.  Can I just add that if you have this stamp set.. get that leaf punch.  I hate that it is retiring when this stamp set is carrying over to the next annual catalog.  I would NEVER fussy cut something that I can punch.  Would you?  I did fussy cut this flower image but I was not happy about it.. lol
I embossed a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and cut it out with a Circle Die from the Layering Circles Dies.  I added it over the strip with Multipurpose Adhesive and then added the fussy cut flower and punched leaves with mini dimensionals.  The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped in Terracotta Tile onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and cut out with my paper snips leaving just a little white around the edge.  The strip was adhered with Multipurpose Adhesive as well.  I used the dark Cajun Craze marker to color in three Glitter Enamel Dots and added those to my card front to finish it off.  The Cajun Craze is a very good match for the Terracotta Tile.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

OSAT Blog Hop Manly May

Hi There!  It's hard to believe it's already the 2nd Thursday in May!  Of course that means it's time for another One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop!  This month's theme is all about the Men!  If you've already been hopping, then thanks so much for continuing on!  If you are starting with me, please make sure you continue on the hop because you'll find tons of inspiration from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the Globe!  Have fun!

I made an adorable Double Z fold card with the help of the By The Dock Bundle!  I love Fun Folds.. don't you?  This amazing set came out in the January - June 2020 Mini Catalog and thankfully will be carrying over to the New 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalog!  I added some stitched rectangles, stitched shape dies and layering circle dies to help get this one all layered up!

You can use the small Pool Party box in the bottom right to write a short note or you can add a panel of Whisper White Cardstock to the Back of the Card to write more!

I also used some of the soon to be retired Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper to make a small Curvy Keepsake Treat Box.  The tag was cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock and tied on with some Whisper White Baker's Twine.

The Spot Challenge #109 - Not Yo Mommas Card, Sending Sunshine Stampin' Up! PDF Fun Fold Card

Hi There!  Hope you are having a great week so far!  Here in Middle Tennessee we are opening the economy back up.  We will have to see how this goes!  I'll begin to work from the office more now as well so I'm back to putting lots of miles on my vehicle again.  It's been pretty nice to have a break from that 90 mile round trip every work day.

Since it is Tuesday, it's time for another card challenge over at The Spot.  This week's theme is "Not Yo Mommas Card".  This can be anything from masculine to a fun fold.  Anything that is not your normal A2 card.  So many fun options!  I went with a fun fold that could work for anyone!

I decided to do a fun fold card using the Sending Sunshine Digital PDF from Stampin' Up! that they released to help with the Covid-19 pandemic.  To grab this amazing give back PDF, click this image..

Back of bottom layer:  Pumpkin Pie, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" scored at 1" from the top and adhered with Tear Tape above the score line so that the card would stand up.  (You could also, just avoid this by makiung a top folding card base 11" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2").
Z fold layer:  Balmy Blue Cardstock 4 x 10 3/4" scored at 5 1/2" and 2 6/8"

Sending Sunshine PDF, Quarantine, Covid-19 Card

Hello!  Hope you are fabulous and beginning to break free from your quarantine!

I'm sharing a card that I made with the Sending Sunshine PDF digital stamps from Stampin' Up!

To grab this amazing Give Back PDF.. click the image below!

This is a non-commissionable PDF.  Demonstrators don't make a penny on these sales.  All proceeds will go to help with the Covid-19 Pandemic!

I was cutting some of the digital stamp images this morning when I decided to look through some of my parts and pieces and make a card.  Do you have parts and pieces laying around?  I have 4 x 5 1/4" panels of cardstock, various diecuts, sections of ribbon, etc.  I noticed I had two panels of Blackberry Bliss and this gorgeous Ornate Floral Border that I had previously cut and never used.  Then when going through some of my 6x6" DSP cuts that will soon be retiring, I noticed I had some in Purple Posey as well as an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of purple posey to use as a top folding cardbase.  This literally was the easiet card.  I just cut two stitched rectangles from the 2nd to largest rectangle in blackberry bliss to the 3rd to largest rectangle of the DSP.  I layered them on my top-folding card base.  I adhered the blackberry bliss ornate floral border with a little liquid adhesive and ran the piece of Whisper White Seam Binding around the front.  My digital stamp was cut with my Stitched Shape Dies and I matted it with one of the scallops from the Layering Circle Framelits and then adhered it over the ribbon with more of the liquid adhesive.  It was seriously THAT simple and so pretty!

Honey Bee Bundle is retiring.. how sad!

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I just wanted to pop on and remind all honey bee lovers that this amazing bundle is retiring and no one could me more sad than me!

I'm sharing two cards today that I made with this set recently.

I started out with a So Saffron top folding cardbase measuring 11" x 4 1/4" and scored at 5 1/2".  The top panel is Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I started out by diecutting some full sticky post-it notes with the honey comb die.  I used the sticky diecuts as a stencil to add some so saffron ink with a ink blending brush.  The brushes I use are from Amazon.  If you look up oval makeup brush, you'll find them easily.  They give a super soft ink blended look.  I also stamped three of the smaller honey bees with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto scraps of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I used So Saffron Blends to quickly color in the stripes.  I stamped the "Thinking of you Sweet Friend" sentiment in the lower right corner and used one of the stitched rectangles dies to cut it out.  I added Basic Black Stitched Rectangle Matt with Multipurpose glue and adhered them to the So Saffron Cardbase with Multipurpose glue as well.  The stamped honey bees were popped up with mini dimensionals and added some wink of stella to the wings.  I added three black sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequin Mix to finish this one off.

For this card I alternated  glueing 3/4" strips of Basic Black and Pineapple Punch (retiring) cardstock to a 4 x 5 1/4" peice of Whisper White cardstock with Tombow Multipurpose adhesive.  Once all adhered, I cut out the panel with one of the stitched rectangle dies.  I layered it on a matt of Whisper White Cardstock and adhered it to an 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Basic Black Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4" for an A2 card base.  I used a scrap of basic black cardstock to cut out the honey comb and adhered with just a little multipurpose adhesive.    The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and cut with one of the smaller of the stitched rectangle dies.  The bee hive was stamped in Pineapple Punch Ink and cut with the coordinating die.  The bee hive was adhered with Multipurpose adhesive onto the front card panel.   The bees were stamped with Memento on Whisper White scraps as well.  I used Daffodil Delight to color in the stripes on the bees.  The bees were popped up with mini dimensionals.  I added three of the Basic Black sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequin Mix to finish this one off.

Thanks for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
