SIP #135 - All You Need Is Love with My Monthly Hero

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope your week is going great so far!  It's been really hectic for me but I'm always happy to come home from my crazy busy day job and have some relaxing time in my craft room!  Crafting is my happy place!

So this week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper it's all about Love!  Hope you'll take some time to head over and link up your own love themed card!

I decided to use my Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit from January as it was still sitting in my craft room begging to be unboxed!  lol

I loved the pink shimmery cardstock that was included in the kit.  I decided to use part of it for a front layer with that cool heart die cut out of the middle of it.  Once I die cut the heart I poked out all of the cut out pieces and then added the heart shape back into the piece of cardstock.  I added some Multi Medium Matt adhesive on the back side of it and then added a scrap piece of basic black cardstock to the back of the panel.  My card  base was an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of 110# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.  I added a beautiful a 5 1/2  x 4 1/4" piece of SU Petal Passion DSP to the front of the card base... I LOVE the black and white!  I then added my shimmery pink front panel onto the top of the Petal Passion with foam tape.  I heat embossed the sending love sentiment from the MMH kit in white onto a small strip of Basic Black cardstock and added it to the front.  I added three of the sequins from the kit and then topped them with glass seed beads.  I added two additional glass seed beads directly to the card front.  I finished this one off by adding some black and white twine across the top by tying it in a bow and curling the ends.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

January A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to the January A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!   I always look forward to this blog hop and all of the fabulous inspiration for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit!  I think this month may have been one of the hardest for me since I loved it so much exactly as designed!

There were so many aodrable stamps in this month's kit so I decided to do some tone-on-tone stamping with Flirty Flamingo Ink on Flirty Flamingo Cardstock using many of the image stamps.  Those envelops are so adorable!!  I backed my 4" x 5 1/4" tone-on-tone layer with a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" mat of Basic Black cardstock. Those layers were adhered to a top folding card base of Thick Whisper White Cardstock.   I used a piece of one of the card/giftcard holders to cut out a scallop square... that black with the small gold hearts was just so pretty.  I added one of the adhesive backed banners to the scallop square.  I stamped the "Be Mine" sentiment from the stamp set in Rich Razzleberry and then clear embossed it. I added some enamel dots onto the vellum heart so that I could adhere it  by putting a glue dot under the enamel dots. Once I had the heart adhered, I added two more enamel dots to the card front.   I added a small bow with the fabulous ribbon included in the kit to the upper left side of the scallop square to finish off the front of this one.

I decided to use the front flap to hold my card in a horizontal position so that I could decorate the upper portion of the outside.  I adhered my vellum banner to the top and added the Flirty Flamingo banner over it.  I heat embossed the sentiment "You Make My Heart Happy" from the stamp set in gold onto a small piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  I then used my Lots of Labels Framelits Dies to cut out a small label and adhered it over the banners.  I added three of the Flirty Flamingo enamel dots to the upper portion as well.

For the inside of my gift card holder I used one of the little scallop cards in the kit and stamped the sentiment "Be Mine" in Basic Black Archival Ink.  I added a Flirty Flamingo die cut heart from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies to the card with a small amount of Tombow glue making sure to center the Be Mine in the middle of the heart.  This left enough room to write a note on the bottom of the card.  I love that the treat/giftcard holder has notches for the beautiful ribbon to the tied.. so cute!

SIP Challenge #134 with Gina K Designs Geo Thanks by Claire Brennan

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this one is a cool color challenge!  Check these colors out... how fun!!!

I just received my order from Gina K Designs and was super excited to use this Geo Thanks set with the challenge!  Claire Brennan is an amazing designer!  I think I have almost every set she has designed!  Check this one out.. fabulous, right??!!

I was originally drawn to the feather in this awesome set but with this week's color challenge I felt like the hearts would be perfect!

I was originally going for a Clean and Simple Design but my splatters really got in the way of the "Clean" part!  Oh well.. I still love it.  I used a card base of 110# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock measuring 11" x 4 1/4" and scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding card.  My stamped panel is Bristol Smooth Cardstock and I stamped the small outlined heart three times in Versafine Black Onyx Ink and then clear embossed them.  I used an Aqua Painter and SU Berry Burst, SU Calypso Coral and Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Ink for the watercoloring.  The splatters are Berry Burst and Calypso Coral and I also used my Aqua Painter to create those.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.  I added a few SU Glitter Enamel Dots and a heart sequin from a recent Hero Arts kit.

January Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop with Color Inspiration!

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Well today is a very special day ... It's Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop time!  Are you ready for some inspiration??  I was blown away last month and super excited to check out everything this month!

If you've already been hopping, thank you for continuing!  If you started here, please make sure to click the next button at the end of the post to get some fabulous scrapbooking ideas using Stampin' Up! Products!

I am super excited about this page... first of all I finally sprung for the Large Letter Framelits from Stampin' Up! and I am so so happy that I did!  They are really awesome and will be so helpful with my scrapbooking projects!  Secondly, I was able to use the awesome Celebrate You Thinlits from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (free with $100 Stampin' Up! purchase)!   This month our challenge is to use Coral, Green and Black.  Luckily the Sweet Soiree Suite, as well as the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Cards from the Sale-a-bration Catalog (free with a $50 Stampin' Up! purchase) uses Old Olive and Calypso Coral!  It's like it was meant to be! :)

I started off with a 12x12" sheet of Basic Black SU Cardstock with a wide strip of the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper!  I backed both my picture and the large Sweet Soiree Memories and More Card with a mat of Basic Black cardstock.  The tag in the lower right was cut from one of the Memories and More small cards with the Sweet Soiree Dies and backed with a cut from the same die in Basic Black cardstock.  I added a bit of thin old olive ribbon through the hole in the tags.

I cut the "celebrate" from the Celebrate You Thinlits and the "U" and "S" from the Large Letters Framelits out of both Calypso Coral and Basic Black. I adhered the coral to the black off-setting them just a little down and to the right for a shadow look.

After journaling on one of the cards, I adhered it to the large card with an off-set mat of another of the smaller cards in an Old Olive floral design.  I added some Glitter Enamel Dots ....my current favorite embellishment!  The stamped flowers from the Cake Soiree Stamp Set were stamped in Calypso Coral Ink on Whisper White Cardstock and cut out with the coordinating Sweet Soiree Dies.

The die cut flowers were cut from the Sweet Soiree Dies in Calypso Coral and glued onto another piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock.  I fussy cut the backing cardstock and then added some Clear Wink of Stella to the top portion of the diecut.  All of the leaves were cut from the Sweet Soiree Dies in Old Olive Cardstock.  Everything was adhered with Tombow Multi Purpose Glue except for the top flowers in a grouping that were added with a dimensional to raise it above the other flowers.

To finish this page off I added some splatters with the Clear Wink of Stella pen (primarily to the Basic Black area).

The splatters took a while to dry but they really look fabulous and totally worth the wait!

PCC276 Color Challenge - Two Card Post with Stampin' Up! and Unity

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  Hope your week is going well!  It's been snowing here in Middle Tennessee and has been soooo cold!  We typically don't get much snow here so we don't have the equipment to clean off the roads.  I had gone into work on Tuesday morning and left the office early because I had heard that the road condition was getting bad.  I did really well almost all the way home until I got to my exit and started sliding all over the place.  Thankfully I had left early and there was no one else in the vicinity.  It was pretty scary and I definitely felt blessed that everything came out ok!  Hopefully today will be much better although we aren't expected to warm up around here until the weekend!  I'm thinking I should retire in Florida and enjoy some warmer winters!

So today I'm over with my talented friends at the Paper Craft Crew with a card for a color challenge!

So I made two cards.. I couldn't decide between the two.   My first was with Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits dies.

The first card was primarily die cutting.. the only stamping was the sentiment and that was heat embossed.   I kept this one fairly simple!

The second card is with Unity Stamp Co. Huge Possibilities.

The Elephant was heat embossed in black and watercolored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I just love this elephant!  I also love the coordinating sentiment!  It's nice to have encouraging sentiments in your inventory!

SIP #133 with Concord and 9th, Stuck on You

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope you're having a fabulous week!  The weekend was cold here in Middle Tennessee so we pretty much stayed at home all weekend long.  I was actually happy to get out of the house on Monday to go back to work!  We also watched some of the football playoffs and unfortunately one game didn't go as well as we had hoped.  We love our Tennessee Titans anyway! :)

Today over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a fun sketch challenge for you!  I hope you'll head over and check it out!  My friend Andrea accuses me of sticking too literally with the sketch.. well I didn't this time!  I really went out on a limb with this one!  Here is the sketch...

And here is my card... I am still playing with my new cool Stuck on You stamp set from Concord & 9th and loving this super adorable stamp set!

Do you know what else I've been playing around with?  The awesome new Brushos powdered watercolor pigments from Stampin' Up!  They are a lot of fun to play with!  I used them to create my window on this card!   I loved that the smaller sentiments would fit in this adorable little sign!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

GIU Blog Hop - Welcome To The Hood!

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope today is a wonderful day and full of blessings!  Today I am blessed and honored as a former GIU Gal to be in a Unity Stamp Company blog hop!  How cool is that?  As you'll see you have a chance to win a Unity Prize package just by commenting on this hop!  Even cooler, right?  I'm sure you'll also have some awesome inspiration along the way!

Have you seen Unity's new release?  They have some awesome stamp sets available now.  As soon as I saw their Facebook Live Release Presentation I headed over to purchase a few sets!  One of my favorite new sets has birds.. called Lift Me Up Birdies!  Seeing it reminded me that I hadn't used my Welcome To The Hood stamp set that I purchased a while back so it was time to pull it out!

So if you are a regular follower, you know I have a love of all things shaker.... so I decided to go shaker with this adorable set.  My first instinct was to stamp on white cardstock but I decided to try it on Pool Party since I wanted a blue sky to see if I could manage a light color wash of the birds on colored cardstock.  All of my stamping.. including the sentiment was stamped in Versafine Black Onyx Ink and heat embossed in clear.  The embossing helps to keep the colors inside the images.  Well.. it worked on the colored cardstock and I was super happy!  I used some distress markers scribbled on an acrylic block and an aqua painter to color in the birds.  Since I was coloring on regular cardstock instead of watercolor paper, I was light with the water and that also helped it to dry super quick.  I filled my shaker window with some Lucy's Little Things Sea Spray Sequin mix.  I thought it turned out super sweet and I hope you loved it too!

OSAT Blog Hop - Sale A Brate The Occasions

Hello and Happy 2nd Thursday of the month a.k.a. OSAT Blog Hop Day!  What a fabulous line up we have for you this year!  You are going to LOVE all of the inspiration heading your way!

If you've already been hopping, you should have landed here from the amazing blog of Sara Levin and I would like to thank you for continuing on!  Our theme of course is "Sale A Brate The Occasions" and is all about the Stampin' Up! Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs.  They are both chocked full of fabulousness!  There are so many awesome options to focus on but I decided to go with the SAB Beautiful Peacock Stamp Set.  Sometimes it's nice to have a simple yet fun stamp set that gives you great options for an easy card.  I really think Beautiful Peacock does just that!

I've seen the peacock stamped in so many color combinations and every one have been gorgeous but I seem to be drawn to the blues and greens.  I used a combination of Dapper Denim, Pool Party, and Emerald Envy for mine on this card.  I recently realized that I haven't used my Square Layering Framelits so I decided to use them here.  I added a few layers with Whisper White, Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy for a little something extra.  The Pinewood Plank embossed diagonal layer was the added in Emerald Envy in the background as well as some Glitter Enamel Dots and some splatters to finish this one off.  Really a simple card that came together pretty quickly.

For my project, I made a small treat bag with a Whisper White A2 Envelope by sealing it and then slicing off a thin strip at the top to open it.  I scored the bottom and both sides at 3/4" inch to make the pleats and glued the bottom triangles down with glue dots.   I added a layer of the Pinewood Plank embossed Dapper Denim in the background.  I decided to change up my colors on the peacock this time to Tempting Turquoise for the feathers and Emerald Envy for the body to show another option in the same color range.

I hope you are ready to continue on for more Sale A Brate The Occasions Inspiration, just click the next button below and you'll be at Claudia Perry's awesome blog!

PCC275 Sketch Challenge by Crystal with Cas-ual Fridays Coffee Talk

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  We have made it half way so that's a Yay!  Hope your week has been fabulous so far!  I'm over with my friends at the Paper Craft Crew this week and we have a super cute sketch challenge brought to us by Crystal Komara!

I love cards that have angled layers!  I knew I wanted to make a coffee themed card.  My good friend and former co-worker, Joey Alarid is moving to California and I am making him some cards for him to take with him.   He has been my coffee-drinking buddy for a little over a year now.  His office was right across from mine and we bonded over our love for coffee and Starbucks in particular.  Joey also loves funny cards so I'm sure he will love this one made with some new Cas-ual Fridays Coffee Talk Stamp Set and Coffee Cup Fri-dies.

I hope you love it as much as I do.!  I think it's so super cute!   My Cardstock base was 110# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and other cardstock used was Stampin' Up! Early Espresso, Basic Gray and Soft Sky.  The fabulous Designer Series Paper is Stampin' Up! Coffee Break.  I added a little Natural Twine around the cup handle and a few flicks of FSJ Dark Roast Silk to finish this off.  The stamp that I used on the die-cut cup is also from Cas-ual Friday Stamps and is called Cup of Coffee.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #132 Cake Walk with Stampin' Up! Cake Soiree

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!  I had a wonderful weekend visiting with my son and grandson, Beckett!  I hadn't seen him in a few weeks and it was all smiles for me!   My grandchildren have been the light of my life the last few years.  I think the saying goes if I'd know grandchildren were this much fun I'd have had them first!  lol

So since this is of course Tuesday, it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this one is a Cake Walk!  Really, it is!

I am in love with the Sweet Soiree Suite from Stampin' Up!  Everything about it is so pretty and there are so many elements and layers to it all.  The last card I made with it was a little wild so I decided to go with something a little more subtle for the cake this time.  What do you think?

I stamped my cake with Versamark Ink onto 110# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock and then heat embossed it in silver.  The background cardstock is Stampin' Up! Soft Sky and was dry embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Since I had left everything else pretty monochromatic with the gray, silver, and white I felt that the background needed some color and texture.  The celebrate die cut is from the Celebrate You Thinlits dies that are free with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-bration with Stampin' Up!  I love to have thinlits to add a sentiment to an area that otherwise would have been hard to have one added.  The textured background was ther perfect example of that.  I used the "celebrate" die to cut the word out of Basic Gray Cardstock.  The "you" was from the Amazing You Stamp Set which is also a SAB freebie for a $50 purchase.   I decided added the "you" embossed in Soft Sky onto a small white rectangle would work perfectly within one of the small sections of planks.  When I finished my panel, I backed it in scallop matt of Basic Gray cardstock cut with one of my favorite Mama Elephant dies.  I mounted all of that on a 110# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Top Folding card base.  To finish this one off I added some Lucy's Little Things Sea Spray Sequin mix.  I knew I needed to add a bit more blue and that sequin mix was perfect for a blue, clear and irridescent mixture.  I ended up added a small Whisper White and Silver Twine bow in the upper left hand corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

PCC274 Sketch Challenge Hero Arts Manatee Stamp and Cut

Hello and Happy New Year!  Hope your week and year are going well so far!   I have many goals this year and one of them is to try to make all of my Design Team or Blog Hop deadlines.  Well so far I'm 3 for 3!  Woo Hoo!  Hopefully I can keep this pace up!

Today I'm over with the Paper Craft Crew with my interpretation of a fun sketch!  Hope you'll head over and check out all of the inspiration by the Design Team this week and then give it a try yourself!

So I must admit that I usually stay pretty close to the sketch but this week I have a pretty loose interpretation using the Hero Arts Manatee Stamp & Cut set!

Not just loose but maybe a little loosey goosey.. lol  I did some Distress Ink Watercolor Smooshing using a Peacock Feathers and Broken China Distress Inks onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I stamped the images on more Bristol Smooth with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then clear embossed them.  I used more distress inks to color in the images.  Once dry I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and then adhered them to the front panel with Tombow Multipurpose glue.  I stamped a few bubbles from the set in Broken China distress ink directly onto the card front.  The sentiment was also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear embossed.  I used a Lil' Inkers Designs stitched rectangle to cut out my panel and then mounted that with foam tape onto Gina K Designs Turquoise Sea Card Stock.  I finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear Confetti.

I hope you like it half as much as I do.. I love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

Sale-a-bration Kick Off Blog Hop

Hello and Happy New Year!  Do you know what is just as exciting as a New Year, it's a new Stampin' Up! Catalog or in this case Catalogs....because not only will the Occasions Catalog go live on January 3rd, but so will the Sale-a-bration catalog!  Who doesn't love to get free stuff, right?? If you want to be inspired, you will want to check out this fabulous Sale-a-bration Kick Off Blog Hop!

If you've already been hopping, I thank you so much for continuing!  If you are starting here, please make sure to stop at every blog along the way!

There are so many fabulous possibilities with this year's Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalog but I decided to feature the fabulous "Celebrate You" Thinlits dies!  They are awesome and they are absolutely FREE with a $100 purchase from Stampin' Up! during Sale-a-bration!  How fabulous is that??  I made two cards featuring them and both are masculine cards.

I was really inspired by the awesome masculine "True Gentlemen" DSP in the Occasions Catalog!  The colors are so beautiful and the designs are awesome!  These cards were super easy yet pack a great punch with those gorgeous die-cut words!  The Celebrate You thinlits are really amazing!  For the Dad Card on the left side, I first cut out "DAD" from the True Genetlemen DSP with a Large Letters Framelits Dies.  I backed it with a mat of Very Vanilla Cardstock and used the cut out letters as a template to glue the center of the letters back into it with a small amount of Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I then cut the "Celebrate" word out with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies in Night of Navy Cardstock.  I used a small amount of Tombow Multipurpose Glue dotted on the back of the word to adhere it.  I added the matted panel onto a Tranquil Tide A2 Cardbase.  I'm totally loving Tranquil Tide now.. it is such an amazing color!  I used a bit of tear tape to adhere two small angled strips of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon to the top left of the card to make a small banner.  Linen Thread was then ran around the top of my card and tied it into a bow ending right at the top of the little Burlap Banner. I used a small drop of more of the liquid adhesive behind the bow and put a small block on it until it was set.    For the second card I used another Tranquil Tide A2 card base and used two different panels of the True Gentlemen DSP to the front.  I cut out all three of the words from the "Celebrate You" Thinlits Dies in both Very Vanilla Cardstock as well as Tranquil Tide Cardstock.   I offset the layers on all three words to add a bit of interest to them.  So simple but really a nice masculine card.

Thank you so very much for stopping by!  Please make sure to check out all of the other inspiration on the hop!  So many lovely creations and ideas await you!

SIP Challenge #131 Emboss It with SAB Beautiful Peacock

Hello and Happy New Year!  This week instead of saying I hope your week is off to a good start I'll say I hope your year is off to a good start!  I always love the start of a new year because it always gives you the opportunity to reset your life, your diet, your faith journey or whatever needs "resetting".  It's a fresh slate and another chance to be who you want to be!  I have a lot of goals for this year.  Some of them are to create more, learn new tips and techniques and to blog more!  I love that I'm on the Stamp, Ink, Paper design team because that gives me the opportunity to not only make a card each week but also to interact with some fabulous paper crafters on the Design Team!  This week's theme at Stamp, Ink, Paper is all about embossing and there is a lot of inspiration for you to check out!  As you'll see from the Graphic it can be any type of Embossing!

Well today I don't necessarily have a new tip or technique but I do have a new card with a brand new stamp set that will be available to customers on January 3rd!  It's also a completely free stamp set available with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration!  I also have a new favorite color... Lemon Lime Twist.  I know.. I know.. I'm late to the party.  So many people have been loving this color.  If you're one of those people, I've just jumped on the band wagon with you.  I'm loving it too!

As usual, I have to throw in something a little old!  The embossing folder is a retired Stampin' Up! folder and I have no idea what It's called but I love the Florishes on it so I used it on my Lemon Lime Twist Background panel!  Oh and here's the thing about Lemon Lime Twist.. I love it with Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy!  I think they all work together soooo well!   Since today is about embossing, I also heat embossed the sentiment.  I stamped it in Versamark Ink and then Dapper Denim Ink and it stayed sticky enough to clear emboss!  I love heat embossed sentiments!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Make it a wonderful & blessed year!  Tina
