The Spot Challenge #138 - Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Cherish The Season Bundle

Hi There and Happy Tuesday!  Are you ready for Thanksgiving yet?  It's just 2 days away so hopefully you are.  Everything is so odd this year with Covid-19 still playing such a huge part of today's social culture.   I play on going to my daughter's home on Thursday.  It's a little over a 3 hour drive but so nice to have it at her home and not have to worry about doing it all myself like I did for so many years.

Are you ready for a sketch challenge over at The Spot.  I think we have a fun one this week.  It's funny how you can look at a sketch and immediately know what you want to use with it.  This week the Stampin' Up! Cherish The Season Bundle came to mind immediately!

Of course those circles could represent so many things but I thought ornaments or bells would be perfect so that's just what I used.

Such a pretty but simple layout.  I love sketches!  So I started off with a Shaded Spruce 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base that was scored at 4 1/4" for a book fold card.  my top layer was a piece of the Heart Warming Hugs DSP in Real Red that was cut 3 3/4" x 5 1/2".  I layered on some of the bells die cut from the Brushed Metallic Cardstock.  I ran the dies that had cut outs of the holly again in both Shaded Spruce and Real Red and paper pieced the holly leaves and berries back into the die cuts.  I used some linen thread to loop through the bell hooks and ran it to the back of the card front panel and taped them on the back.  I cut a few of the Pine Sprigs out in Shaded Spruce and attached them with glue with glue dots at the top of 3 of the bells.  The sentiment was stamped in Shaded Spruce on Whisper White Cardstock and then cut out with on of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then added with Dimensionals on the left side of the card front.  Finally I cut a piece of Shaded Spruce just a touch wider than the top layer (3 7/8" x 5 1/2") and then layered it under the card front and attached it to the card base.  Such a simple design but I think I nailed the sketch.. hope you agree!  If you are interested in any of the products used, I have them linked below.  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a blessed day and a Wonderful Thanksgiving!  Tina

The Spot Challenge #137 - Color Challenge with Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz.. So Christmasy!

Hi There.  Hope your week is off to an oh so awesome start!  This week over at The Spot, we have a perfect Color Combo for a Christmas Card.  If you are like me at all, you still have Christmas Cards to make so come on over and join us for a fun color combo!

Here's what I came up with today.. with the help of a few products of course.. lol

I absolutely Love this color combo and the beautiful Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper is absolutely perfect!  I started with an A2 cardbase of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" Panel of one of the patterns of this beautiful DSP and backed it with a thin mat 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" of Mossy Meadow.  I ran some of the gorgeous Pear Pizzazz and gold ribbon from the All The Trimmings Combo Pack and tied it into a bow on the right side of my card front.  I attached the matted layer on my card base with Dimensionals.  For the banners, I but layers of the DSP and a layer of Mossy Meadow Cardstock with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and cut one of the ends off straight for a banner look. I cut three layers of letters to spell JOY from the Playful Alphabet Dies in Real Red Cardstock and then stacked them for a dimensional look. I topped it with a the "to the world" label type of sentiment stamped in Real Red from the Peace & Joy Stamp Set and fussy cut to layer directly over the word JOY.  I then finished it off with three red embellishments from the All The trimmings embellishment pack.  I love the flat embellishments.... here's a confession. they are supposed to be Poppy Parade but totally look Real Red so I used them!  Shhhh.... it's a secret, don't tell!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #136 Emboss Resist Card Technique Challenge with Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Garden

Hi there!  Hope your Tuesday is off to a good start!  Tuesdays are usually pretty good days for me as anything is better than a Monday!  We have a super fun challenge over at The Spot this week that is a Technique Challenge this time... Emboss Resist.  It's really one of my favorite techniques.

I just got my hands on a brand new stamp set called Dragonfly Garden that will be out in the new Mini Catalog coming out in January so I had to use it... of course!

This was just such a simple card but oh so pretty.  I started with a panel of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped my floral image from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in Versamark Ink and then heat embossing with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Once it was completely dry, I used an oval make up brush to blend Old Olive Ink at the bottom of the panel and Pool Party Ink at the top of the panel.  Once I was happy with the look of the ink blending, I wiped the embossed floral image with a Paper Towel so that no ink was sitting on the embossing.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the right side and then used one of my Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the panel.  I matted it with Whisper White so that it would help the white floral image to pop.  I ran some Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon across the bottom and tied it in a knot on the left side, directly over the stems of the floral image.  On a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock, I heat embossed my Dragonfly in White and used an Oval brush to apply Bumble Bee Ink over the dragonfly.  I used a paper towel to remove any ink from the embossing and then used my Dragonfly punch to cut it out!  I used some Dimensionals to attach the matted panel onto a Mossy Meadow Cardbase and then added a few Gilded Gems to finish it off!  If you are a Demonstrator, and you attended On Stage, you had the opportunity to get this bundle extra early rather than waiting until December 1st to preorder it.  If you are not a Demonstrator, you can get your hands on this beautiful bundle in January during Sale-a-bration!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!  Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #135 - Plant Kindness, Harvest Love with The Autumn Goodness Bundle and Curvy Dies

Happy Tuesday Friends!  Hope you had a great Halloween and in the Thanksgiving mindset because it will be here before you know it!  This week's challenge over at The Spot is Plant Kindness, Harvest Love.  You can post a card about plants, kindness, harvest or even love!

Since I had a stamp set that had a sentiment stamp that says Plant Kindness, Harvest Love, I went straight to that!  I also added a little of the Curvy Dies and some beautiful DSP  in Cinnamon Cider.

This card was really pretty simple but the Curvy Dies really adds so much interest popped up with Dimensionals!   The awesome new Curvy Dies are available to customers today at Stampin' Up!.  You can order them by themselves or as part of the Curvy Celebrations Bundle and there is a coordinating Stamp Set available called Curvy Christmas that is perfect to beautiful Christmas Cards!  I'll be posting a few using that set soon!
