SIP #156 Shaker Card Challenge

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you've had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start!  It's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and this week it's all about shaker cards!

I have to be honest in that my card was soooo super easy!  I used some awesome 6x6" patterned paper from Altenew called Reflection that is just beautiful and made for a quick and easy card!

Never underestimate the value of beautiful patterned paper!  It really did most of the work for me!  I added a sentiment from Altenew (Best Buds Stamp Set) and some sequins and then built a frame with square framelits, window sheet and  foam strips.  So simple yet really pretty!

SIP Challenge #155 Summer Fun and Giveaway!

Hi Friends!  I have some super cool news to share!  Over at Stamp, Ink, Paper this week the top three Picks will get a free stamp Set! It's the Bold and Brushy Uppercase Alphabet!  (Must be in U.S. to win.)  Here's a picture of the cool stamp set to check out!

There are sooooo many possibilities with this Stamp Set!  I LOVE Concord & 9th!  A matter of fact, I'm using a C&9 Stamp Set for this week's SIP Summer Fun challenge!

I'll tell you that I had a super busy birthday weekend and didn't have time to make a card until Monday night!  I whipped out my Pineapple Perfection Stamp Set and did a little coloring on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with my Zig Clean Color Markers and it was super fast and easy!

Now I don't know if a Pineapple made of flowers seems like fun to you but it does to me so I went for it!  The Zig Clean Color Markers blend so well on Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  If you haven't tried that combination I hope you will!  It really changed my world!  lol

Thanks so much for stopping by this week!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #154 Sketch Challenge with Hero Arts My Monthly Hero June 2018

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you are having a blessed week so far!  It's been super hot here in Middle Tennessee lately but this week we're having some rainy days.  Hopefully the rain will cool it off just a bit!  I think I'm beginning to get too old for extreme heat!  I spent Saturday at my 6 year old granddaughter's softball tournament and felt like I was having a heat stroke by the time the day was over.  Is that crazy or what?  All I was doing was watching them.  I can only imagine how those little girls felt out there playing ball all day long in the heat!

So of course it's Tuesday... that means another SIP Challenge and this week we have a cool sketch!

Do you look at sketches and immediately see something?  I usually do and this time I saw either a sunrise or sunset.   Lucky for me I just received my Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit and had some fun stamps to make my vision come to life.

These are soooo many cool things about this set!  I love the multilayer water scene.  Oh and that sand embossing powder is awesome!  I see many cards in this set's future!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

PCC295 Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures Bundle

Hi Friends and Happy Hump Day!  We have made it half way through the work week.... Woo Hoo to that!  Once again my love of all things nautical is back up for view!  Over at Paper Craft Crew today the sketch gave me an idea that I had to run with using the new Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures Bundle!  The funny thing is that my original idea was changed up while I was making my card.  Does that ever happen to you?  It sure happens to me a lot!

So as usual when I see a circle, I think of a nautical shaker card.  Of course that would have been super cute but when I got my dies out and looked at that awesome fish net die I had another idea.

I saw the fabulous Linda Heller from Stamping School make the netting by distressing cardstock until it peels apart into two layers and then die cutting just one of the layers for the net.  I used that method so that I could get the netting to crumple up behind the octopus.  It is a super cool look so goodness knows I'll be making more of these nets!  :)

For the Octopus I first stamped in SU Smoky Slate (a light gray) and then sponged on some Blackberry Bliss.  I love the look!  I also love that the die cuts out so many of the inside sections of the legs!  I believe this bundle is one of the best picks from the brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog!  If you don't have it yet, you can purchase the clear mount Sea of Textures Bundle here!   I also used the coordinating Tranquil Texture DSP.  There were a lot of options with this DSP and I'm still not sure I picked the right one. lol  I just really wanted the octopus to stand out!

SIP #153 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge with Concord & 9th Blooms Fill In Bundle

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend and survived Monday without too much stress.  Mondays are always super busy for me at work.  We are heading into our busy season so I was just happy to get home at a reasonable hour.  Thankfully I still needed to create my Design Team Card so I came in from work, fed the dogs, and then went straight into the craft room.  Thank goodness for craft therapy when my life is crazy busy!

So of course it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge this week with a Tic-Tac-Toe.

I decided to go right across the bottom row with wood, flowers and glitter for my card.  I finally used my Concord & 9th Blooms Fill In Bundle and I really love it!

This one started with an A2 cardbase of SU Crumb Cake Cardstock that had a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Wood Textures DSP glued onto it. I used the Blooms Fill In background stamp in SU Mint Macaron on Whisper White Cardstock and used SU Daffodil Delight to add the inside of the flowers.  I used the Coordinating Die to cut out my cool label shape.  The "you matter to me" sentiment was heat embossed in gold over the floral label.  I die cut some white flowers and stamped the same inside of the flower in Daffodil Delight to add as accents on the upper left and lower right.  I also cut out some of the small leaves sprig out in both Mint Macaron and Mossy Meadow to use under the accent flowers.  Before adhering my label with dimensionals to the front of the card I swired some gold trim and adhered with mini glue dots.  The accent flowers and leaves were then adhred some with Tombow multipurpose glue and some with dimensionals.  I added three yellow glitter enamel dots to finish this one off because of course per the tic-tac-toe I had to add glitter.. lol
