PCC237 - Sketch Challenge with Hero Arts Fun in the Rain

Hello all! Hope your mid-week is going well!   I am so so proud of myself!  I actually made a card that is soooooo very close to this week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch!  lol  I usually take some artistic liberties but this time I really stayed on task.  I loved this sketch so much I actually made three cards with it.  Don't worry.. I only blogged one of them!  lol

I had so much fun with the Hero Arts "Fun In the Rain" stamp set on this card.  This animals are just adorable!   What do you think?

I started off with a Dapper Denim cardstock base that was 11" x 4 1/4" (scored at 5 1/2").  My next layer was 5 1/4" x 4" Neenah Crest Solar White 80# cardstock layer.  I used my distress ink blending tool to blend in somd Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Inks.  After blending, I spritzed it with water and then dabbed it with a paper towel.  My clouds are Hero Arts Infinity Cloud Dies.  I used my Stampin' Up! Triple Banner Punch to punch banner ends on my Real Red Cardstock 3/4" x 3 1/2" banner.  The mat for the square is Dapper Denim and the top square is more of the Neenah Crest Solar White 80# cardstock.  Both the square and scallop mat were cut with Stampin' Up! Layering Square Dies.  I masked the bottom of the square off  and then ink blended it with Broken China Distress Ink .  I stamped the rain in with Faded Jeans Distress Ink,  Both the adorable bear and pig were stamped onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Black Versafine Ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Markers.

I wanted the inside to be blank to write a note but of course I had to decorate it a bit.  This little duck in the set seemed perfect and took very little coloring. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #92 Color Inspiration Challenge with Mama Elephant Organic Blooms

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope you had a nice relaxing weekend that got your week off to a wonderful start!  My Hubby was off this past weekend and we got a lot of things done around the house.  It rained quite a bit both Saturday and Sunday which made it easy to get some things done inside for a change.  I love the weekends that he is off work.  It really makes me look forward to our retirement from our day jobs.  I'm hoping to retire at 62 and since I am almost 58, that's just a little over 4 years... not that I counting! lol

Since today is Tuesday, it means it's time for yet another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  This week we have a cool color inspiration challenge photo for you!

I loved the look of the stripes of color so I decided to add stripes of ink blending to my background.

I used the beautiful Mama Elephant Organic Blooms stamp set.  Not only do I love the floral image but there are a lot of awesome sentiments in it!  I can see myself using these sentiments a lot!

I started off with a top folding Neenah Classic Solar White 110# cardbase.  The top layer was a 80# Neenah Classic Solar White that has masked stripes for Ink Blending of Various Distress Inks.  My Organic Blooms image was stamped in Versafine Black Ink and clear embossed onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  The image was colored in with Zig Clean Color Marks and an aqua painter.  I fussy cut the image out.. that was not fun.  I need to check to see if Mama Elephant has dies for this one! lol  I layered a doily onto the striped layer and then adhered the floral image with foam tape.  The sentiment Happy Everything was first inked with Versamark and then inked with Blackberry Bliss (retired Stampin' Up!) ink and clear embossed.  I ran a long strand of Natural Twine across the top of my card and tied it into a bow.  I used the side of my scissors to add a little curl in the twine.  I then added a few different light blue Pretty Pink Posh sequins to bring in more of the lighter blue color.

Hero Arts March 2017 My Monthly Hero - you're somebunny special

One of the best things I've ever done was to subscribe to Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit!  It is such a fabulous value!  March has been a crazy busy month and today I finally made a super quick and easy card with this month's My Monthly Hero Kit!  It is super adorable!

The kit even included the adorable dies that created the fence and the garden.  The little garden die has little slits to tuck the vegetables down into it.  I used Black Versamfine ink to stamp my images onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I used Zig Clean Color Markers and an aqua painter to color in the images.  I loved that the bunnies only needed a hint of light pink in the ears and checks.  I also used the Hero Arts Cloud Infinity Dies that were an Add on for an early kit!

PCC 236 Shaker Card You're Nauti-Cool!

Hello!  Hope you're having a fabulous week!  I was beginning to think I would never get this post up!  There were some wicked storms that came through earlier today and the power was flickering off and on.  All three of our dogs were hiding in my craft room while I was finishing up my card.  My big 105 lb baby... Monty, is still in there.  He's my be a huge dog but he's a baby when there's a storm and wants near his Momma! lol

Of course, since it is Wednesday, it's time for another Paper Craft Crew and this week we have another fun sketch.

I can tell you that pretty much anytime we have a sketch with a circle in the middle of it, it will end up either a shaker card or nautical themed card.  Well this time I ended up combining them!  lol

I just received the fun new Fun Stamper's Journey Stamp Set "Under The Sea" so I had to make a shaker card with an under the water scene!  I stamped and colored all of the images from this fabulous stamp set so look out.. there will be more cards.  These images were heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and colored with Kuretake Zig Clean Color Markers and an aqua brush.  My background for the under water scene was a piece of Neenah Crest Solar White 80# cardstock that had Broken China and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink blended onto it.  I spritzed it with water once done so get some pitting in the color and add some interest.  It looks super cool up close.  The sentiment You're Nauti-Cool is from the Avery Elle "Knotty" Stamp Set.  It has some awesome nautical sentiments that I love to use.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

SIP #91 - Andrea's Birthday - Prismacolor Pencils!

Hello!  It's Spring!  Yay!  I hope it is beginning to feel like it where you live!  I was so happy to have some beautiful weather this past weekend!  Did I tell you about winning a fabulous prize?  I entered a card in a challenge over at Stamp Junkies Facebook Group a few weeks back.  The prize was donated by Gina of Gina K Designs and it was a 150 pc set of Prismacolor Pencils!  Well.. I got lucky and won it!  Woo Hoo!  So today I decided for the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Birthday Card Challenge to use my fabulous new pencils. Oh and this challenge is in honor of my sweet friend Andrea Tracy-Tucker so make sure you tell her Happy Birthday!

I have two different cards to share because I had played around with coloring two different images to get the feel for these pencils.  Here's my first card!

My first card uses the Unity Stamp Co. "Damn.. you're old" stamp set.  I wanted to color in the cake because I thought a larger image would give me a chance to get used to the pencils and try some shading.  I hope I did ok.. I'm sure I'll get better as I play around with them more!

Here's card #2..

This second card uses the Lawn Fawn Stamp set "Hang In There".  I just adore this sloth!  Again.. I'm new at the pencils but I think it turned out fairly good.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I wish you'd let me know which card you like the best!  Blessings, Tina

PCC235 Sketch Challenge with Lawn Fawn Out of This World Slider

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  Hope your week is going great!  I've had three of my Knoxville granddaughters in town the last few days so that is always a good time!  Today, I'm back over with the Paper Craft Crew with another card for a fun sketch!

http://papercraftcrew.com/?p=5861

Today's card was soooo much fun to make!  I finally broke out my new Lawn Fawn Set called "Out of This World" and made a slider card with it!

I mean the sentiment "today the world revolves around you" really calls for a slider, right?  I mean  how else can the world revolve around you. lol  I had a blast making this.  There are so many possibilites with all of the pieces and parts to this stamp set.  I was a little limited to what I could add since I wanted to stay fairly true to the sketch.  I'm sure I'll be trying some different styles with this adorable stamp set.

Here's the inside.. I kept it pretty simple except for adding a bit of the ink blending and water spritzing to the upper right corner for some interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings!  Tina

SIP Challenge #90 - Shaker Card - Elphie Selfie Again!

Hello!  I know I talk about the weather a lot but what in the world.. it was crazy this past week.  It was in the high 60's most of the week and then Saturday we ended up with a little more than an inch of snow.  By Sunday, it was sunny, the snow melted and it was about 50 degrees!  I'm hoping that is the end of the white stuff.  It's pretty but I've seen enough of it.  Looking at the 5 day forecast, it looks like we'll have a few morning cold evenings but up to at least high 40's or 50's during the day.  I'm so ready for Spring!   Since today is Tuesday, it is of course time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!  This week is a Shaker Card challenge!  I love shakers so this was right up my alley!

So I know I'm wearing you out on my Lawn Fawn Plaid but here I go again with the Perfectly Plaid paper stack and the adorable Elphie Selfie Stamp and Die Sets!

This time I picked up on the orange in the plaid and used that for my card front.  My dies for the window and the scallop card front are from Mama Elephant and are called "All Prettied Up".

OSAT Blog Hop - Birthday Bash!

Hello!  I hope you are having a fabulous week.  It seems like March has come in like a Lion pretty much all over the country from what I can tell.  We've had some beautiful weather to start out with but plenty of rain and thankfully not much wind damage around my neck of the woods! I hope things have been going well for you where ever you live.  It is so sad to turn on the news and another hear of tornadoes throughout the country.  It seems the Midwest has been hit especially hard lately!

Since today is already the second Thursday in March, that means it's time for One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop!  This month's theme is Birthday Bash and we have lots of inspiration for you along the way!  If you've already been hopping, you should have landed here from Jennifer's fabulous blog!  If you are starting with me, make sure you hop all the way through and don't miss any of the awesomeness that we have in store for you!  Who doesn't love birthdays??!!

I have recently purchased a few new stamp and dies set but one kit in particular was really calling my name for this blog hop, the fabulous Beautiful Butterflies Card Kit by My Favorite Things!  Here's what I came up with... I hope you like it as much as I do!

Aren't these butterflies absolutely gorgeous!  It has an awesome sentiment set in the kit as well.  For my card and project I paired the butterflies with the gorgeous Perfectly Plaid paper stack from Lawn Fawn.  If you love plaids, this is the paper stack for you.  The colors just really scream Spring to me!

My card base is an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of  110# Neenah Crest Solar White that was scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding note card.  My top layer was a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of 80# Neenah Crest Solar White.  I used my Tim Holtz Ink Blending Tool and Broken China Distress Ink to make a beautiful blue sky.  I stamped my sentiment with Versafine Black Ink and heat set it.  I added a strip of Plaid patterned Paper from the Perfectly Plaid Paper Stack and used a die from the  Mama Elephant Borderline Trio Set  to cut a decorative curved edge.  I adhered it to my front and ran a piece of Natural Thread around it and tied it in a bow.  I used more of the 80# Neenah Crest Solar White and various Distress Inks to blend in some areas to stamp the butterflies with Versafine Black Ink.  After dry, I cut them out with the coordinating dies.

The inside was super simple with a stamped sentiment from my stash and another blended butterfly.

I used a Sizzix Bigz Pillow Box Die to cut my Pillow Box out of more of the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Paper Stack.  The band across the box is from My Favorite Things and was a freebie label die  when I ordered the Beautiful Butterflies Kit and I'm not sure if it is available any longer as I believe they now have a new freebie.  Of course I added more Natural Thread as well as another blended butterfly to finish off the pretty treat box.

PCC 234 Sketch Challenge with Lawn Fawn Elfie Selfie

Hello!  We made it to Wednesday!  That's always a good thing to know you are halfway through the work week, or at least it is for me.  This is a super busy time of year for me work-wise so I especially love relaxing with some crafting in the evening to unwind!    Well since it is Wednesday, it is of course, time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge!

So I have to be truthful.. at first I was not a fan of this sketch.  But, as usual, once I started playing around with some ideas, it all came together and I think it is super cute now.  Oh and I was able to use my new Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie Stamp and Die Sets so it was an added bonus!

I think the animals in this set are just so so cute!  For this one I started off with an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of  Neenah Crest Solar #110 White Cardstock that was scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding card.  Next I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Neenah Crest Solar #80 White Cardstock and used my Ink Blending Tool with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink to blend in a sky.  My Patterned Paper is from the new Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6x6" Paper stack.  I cut a piece of the green plaid with a Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Die for the bottom of my card and a piece of multi-color plaid for the upper portion.  The banners and circle were more of the same collection of paper.  My images were all stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Black Ink and then Clear Embossed.  I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Markers.  It is so easy to blend with the Zigs on Bristol Cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark onto a Black Cardstock strip and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I tied Natural twine on the upper strip of Patterned Paper prior to adding the banners.  I used the edge of my scissors to add a little twirl to the twine.   I added the 1" circle then the embossed sentiment strip.  I added the bird to the side of the sentiment to look as though he is holding it.  The large elephant was tucked into the grass with the cake on his trunk.  I added the mouse over the grass so it would appear that he is standing next to my elephant.

On the inside I added another strip of the Patterned Paper grass.  I tucked the little elephant behind the grass and added his selfie camera and "click" next to him.  I stamped wish big in the upper portion.  As usual, when stamping a sentiment directly on a card, I used my Misti so I would be guaranteed a good dark image without messing up the card.  lol    Just a note... his camera wasn't placed correctly in this picture.  I fixed the placement but didn't have time to reshoot the picture.  Just take my word for it.. it looks much better now! lol

SIP #89 Sketch Challenge with Lawn Fawn Hang In There

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope your week is off to an awesome start.  We've had a couple of days of wonderful weather.  I'm really hoping that the cool weather is gone to stay.  It's so nice being outside without a coat!  I know that the groundhog saw his shadow but I'm hoping he was wrong!!  lol

So since it's Tuesday, it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge.  This week's challenge is a sketch that is pretty simple so I hope you'll head over and check out all of the inspiration and then link up a card of your own.  There are so many possibilities with this one!

Luckily, I still have some Lawn Fawn goodies that I preordered from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store.  I'm having a blast with all of these adorable stamp and die sets.  I decided to use my new Lawn Fawn Hang In There set today.  I just adore this little sloth!

So for this one I started with an A2 SU Lost Lagoon (Retired) Card Base.  A 5" x 3 3/4" Whisper White Card Panel was embossed with the SU Woodland Embossing Folder.  I layered it on a 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" Early Espresso piece of Cardstock and then mounted the two layers onto the card base.  I added a 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of Patterned Paper from a 6x6" DOCrafts Paper Pack called Owl Folk. I added a 1/4" x 3 3/4" piece of Early Espresso Cardstock on the side of the Patterned Paper and adhered both of those to the card base.   The blue in the circle was also from that Paper Pack and was cut with one of my MFT Dienamics Zig Zag Stitched Circle Stax.  I heat embossed the sentiment in White on the bottom of the circle.  I stamped my Sloth onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Hero Arts  Black Hybrid Ink that was heat set.  I colored it by scribbling some ink from SU markers onto an acrylic block and adding a little Wink of Stella and then painting in the images with the Wink of Stella Brush.  Once dry, the circle was adhered with Foam Tape on my card front.

Here's the inside:

Here's a link to the stamp set at the Lawn Fawn Website, if you want to check it out:  Hang In There  I checked to see if the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store had it in stock and apparently they don't.  I love to support the awesome Justin Krieger and buy from his store whenever possible!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

PCC233 Tic-Tac-Toe Shabby Chic Card!

Hey Friends!   What a rainy messy couple of days we've had here in Middle Tennessee.   For some reason when it's rainy, I always want to be at home so I was super happy to get home from work, put on comfy clothes, and make a card!   As soon as I got in on Tuesday, I fed the dogs and then went straight into the craft room.  I realized after about 20 minutes that all 3 dogs had followed me in there.  They don't like storms and there had been some lightning so I guess they wanted to stick close to their Momma!   I think we have one more rainy day but at least my Hubby will be home with them tomorrow while I'm at work!

Since it's Wednesday, it's time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge and this time we have a Tic-Tac-Toe for you!

For my card I decided to go straight down the middle column with Shimmer, Shabby Chic, and Flowers.  I hope this was Shabby Chic enough.  What do you think?

I used a retired Our Craft Lounge stamp set for the flowers called "Pretty Petals".  I wanted to gold emboss my flowers and watercolor and that seemed to be the only flower set I had that I felt would work.  Many of my floral sets are multi-layering sets that don't have the outline portion of the flower.  Note to self.. I need more flower stamp sets!!!  I started with an 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" SU Soft Suede Cardstock base that was scored at 4 1/4".  The top layer is a piece of Whisper White that measured 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" to completely cover the Soft Suede base.  I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I added some splatters of gold and black Fun Stamper's Journey Silks.  I made a nest of some Gold Metallic thread in the middle, adhered with SU Dimensionals.  The sentiment  was stamped in Stampin' Up! Early Espresso Ink and is from the Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  I just love the font of the sentiments in that set!  After embossing the flowers and leaves in gold on Watercolor Paper, I watercolored them with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I fussy cut everything out and used my bone folder to give them some dimension. The flowers and leaves were adhered to the card front over the gold metallic thread with a combination of multipurpose glue, Stampin' Up! Dimensionals and Foam tape.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold sequins because all cards need sequins.  LOL

To finish this one out I added some sparkle with some Clear Wink of Stella!  This card is for my Mom for her 83rd birthday!  I hope she loves it as much as I do!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
