SIP Challenge #63 - Wonderful Wings with Serene Silhouettes

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  What a wonderful challenge we have over at Stamp, Ink, Paper this week!   It's all about Wonderful Wings!  I hope you head over and check out all of the awesome inspiration by the Design Team for this one!
I decided to use a retired Stampin' Up! Stamp set called Serene Silhouettes!  I love every image in this set but I especially LOVE the silhouette of the birds!

I used a super fun technique that I call Masked Sponged Background on this card.  I learned this from watching a video by Gina K on Stamp TV.  In case you've not done this super easy and beautiful technique click here to watch!  I have Gina K saved as a favorite on Youtube as well as a few other awesome card makers.  If you're not a follower of Stamp TV, you're missing some awesome stuff!

I started with an 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" piece of Wisteria Wonder Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".  My next layer was Basic Black that measured 5 x 3 3/4".  My top layer was Whisper White that measured 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".  I used Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi ink to sponge my background.  After tearing some scrap notebook paper and masking the top and bottom, I sponged the Wisteria Wonder on the top portion, next Soft Sky blending into the Wisteria Wonder and last Wild Wasabi at the bottom and blending up into the Soft Sky Ink.  I kept the masks in place to stamp the Bird Silhouette in Basic Black Archival Ink.  The sentiment is from an awesome Verve Stamp Set called "Words of Wisdom".  I love sentiments that inspire and this set has a lot of awesome sentiments that do just that!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  Below is a listing of the Stampin' Up! Products used.

SIP Challenge #62 - Sketch with Cookie Cutter Halloween

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Of course since it's Tuesday it's time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!  I love this week's sketch, what do you think of it?

As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to either have a sun or moon as the big circle.  Since Halloween is coming up and I have lots of granddaughters to make cards for, why not make a huge moon and break in this awesome new Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set and the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch!

I have to tell you that there is an awesome die set that would have made a much spookier tree and an awesome spooky fence.. note to self, I NEED that set!  lol  But for now, I used the tree from the limited die set that is available this month only called Thoughtful Branches Bundle.  I absolutely adore this set and see so many awesome uses for it.  I really hope it makes it into the next Annual Catalog!  So on to my card, I used an Elegant Eggplant cardbase that measured 11" x 4 1/4" and was scored at 5 1/2" for a top folding card.  I added a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Basic Black.  Next on a 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" piece of Elegant Eggplant, I stamped the Watercolor Wash stamp tone-on-tone with Elegant Eggplant Ink.  I then die cut a circle into that towards the middle of the bottom of the card.  On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the same Watercolor Wash stamp but this time I stamped it with Smoky Slate Ink.  I then glued that to the back of the top layer of purple by using fast fuse just around the edges.  The adorable little bats are from the same Cookie Cutter Halloween set and were stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink onto the moon.   I cut my tree in Basic Black and used my fine tip glue to attach it to the front of the card.  I then attached that layer onto my card front.  Next on more scrap Whisper White I stamped the two Cookie Cutter Halloween images with Black Archival Ink.  I colored in the purple of the Dracula with  purple markers... in retrospect, maybe I should have used red for a pop of another color.  After punching out my images with the new Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  I used Dimensionals to pop them up.  The sentiment was from a retired Stamp Set from last year's Holiday Catalog.  So, another note to self, I need current Halloween sentiments. lol  I do love how it turned out.  Super cute I think.  I'm sure one of our 6 granddaughters will love it.  Now 5 more cards to make, or maybe just 4 since one of our granddaughters is just 2 months old.. lol

Hope you have a wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

Below is a list of the products used!  The Cookie Cutter Set is not available until September 1st unless you are a demo and order it on a pre-order!

SIP Challenge #61 Tic-Tac-Toe from Lisa!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Are you ready for another SIP Challenge?  This week we have another fun Tic-Tac-Toe from Lisa!
http://stampinkpaper.com/2016/08/sip-challenge-61-tic-tac-toe-from-lisa/

I went straight across the middle with Bird, Tree, and Blue.  Here's my card..

I have to tell you that I absolutely Love this sentiment from Unity Stamp Company but it is so large, it can be a bit tricky to use.  I had to get the elements in so for my tree with this sentiment I decided to use this awesome Stampin' Up! Woodland Embossing Folder.  I brayered soft suede ink over the embossed 3 3/4" x 5" Soft Sky Layer.  Now I have another confession.. and I'm pretty sure if you take a good look at this card, it is no secret... I am not good at brayering on embossed images.  There.. I've said it!  I have one of the old type brayer and I really believe that the new Stampin' Up! Sponge Brayers would probably be much easier to do this technique.  I'm going to order some on my next order so stay tuned.. I'll let you know!   I heat embossed my sentiment in the new Copper Embossing Powder onto Whisper White and then used Banner Framelit Dies to cut it out.  The birds are Little Bird Dies from Gina Marie and were adhered with glue dots.  I layered my card front on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Early Espresso Cardstock and then layered that on an 11" x 4 1/4" cardbase that was scored at 5 1/2".  For some reason I've been loving top folding cards lately!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Below are links to all of the products!

OSAT Blog Hop - Dog Days of Summer

Hello and welcome to One Stamp At A Time's Dog Days of Summer Blog Hop!  If you have already been hopping, you should have landed here from the very talented, Lori Mueller's Blog and I would like to thank you for continuing on the hop.  If you have started with me, please make sure you hop all the way through as we have some fabulous inspiration for you!

If you know me well, you know that I LOVE dogs.  So of course, I had to use a dog in my Dog Days of Summer blog post.  We recently lost Snickers, one of our Black Labs, to cancer and it was such a tough time for us!  We have four dogs left and they come in various colors and sizes.  There is Monty, our big brown Great Dane/Golden Retriver mix, Snooki, another Black Lab, Abby our Beagle/Coonhound Mix and Brinkley our little white Jack Russell.  When our dogs are outside in the heat of the summer, I can tell you that they will be found under one of our two huge Silver Maple trees.  Usually there are at least two together and usually Monty and Snooki (brown and black dogs) are right next to each other.  I always tell my husband, Jeff, that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. To make a long story short, this is my take on those two dogs relaxing and surviving the heat of the day together.

So for my card I started with a Daffodil Delight 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock that was scored at 4 1/4".  My second layer was a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of black cardstock.  My top layer was Very Vanilla cardstock that measured 5 1/4" x 4".  I sponged the sky with Soft Sky Ink, and the sun with Daffodil Delight.  My tree was from the awesome new Thoughtful Branches Bundles.  It is only available during the month of August unless they bring it back in the next catalog.  I absolutely LOVE it!  I stamped the tree stamp in Soft Suede onto Crumb Cake cardstock and the top of the tree was stamped in Garden Green onto a background that was created by watercoloring Pear Pizzazz with my Aqua Painter onto Watercolor Paper.  I made two tree tops the same way and then offset them a little for more depth.  My two dogs were from the Sitting Here stamp set.  I stamped one in Soft Suede onto Crumb Cake cardstock, and the second I stamped in Basic Black onto Basic Gray cardstock.  I used my blender pens to color them in a bit more and then fussy cut them.  The grass was from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set as well.  I stamped it in Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz all across the bottom of my sponged scene.  My black dog was adhered with Multipurpose glue over the tree trunk and the brown dog was attached with dimensionals in the front.  I added some black twine onto the left side and wrapped around the cardfront three times and then attached a messy black and messy linen bow onto the twine.  The sentiment is from the Weather Together stamp set.  I stamped it with Archival Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and was backed with Basic Black cardstock and then attached with Dimensionals.

For my project, I altered an Address Book that I bought from the Dollar Tree for $1.  I unwound the binding and removed both the front and back cover and covered them with Printed Cardstock from the Fiesta Forever Paper Stack.  I used Tear Tape to adhere the printed cardstock.  I ran some yellow seam binding up the side and stamped the Live Laugh Love sentiment from Layering Love.

SIP #60 Color Challenge

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Hope your Monday went off without a hitch!  Since it's Tuesday I'm back over with Stamp, Ink, Paper with my Color Challenge DT Card.

http://stampinkpaper.com/2016/08/sip-challenge-60-colors-from-andrea/
This week I decided to use my Swirly Bird stamp set.  I have to be honest that when the new Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog came out I loved the coordinating dies to this set and preordered them but not the stamp set. What was I thinking?? lol  I started seeing some fabulous cards posted with the Stamp set so of course I had to have it.  I went pretty messy and whimsical with this one but I love how it turned out.. although this is totally not my usual style!

I started with an Elegant Eggplant Cardstock A2 cardstock base and added a top layer of Smokey Slate that measured 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" for a very skinny purple border.  I stamped some of the scribble flowers in Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder and added a few leaves in Smoky Slate.  The splatters were stamped with Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder.  I cut out two  Elegant Eggplant Swirly Scribbles Flowers and stacked them to add some dimension.  I added them with the awesome Fine Tip Glue Pen.  I also used my a Stampin' Up! Marker to add some splatters in Blackberry Bliss, unfortunately this is a retired color but I really LOVE it so it's not going away for me!  lol  The sentiment is from the new Thoughtful Branches stamp set that just landed at my doorstep!  I just love the font in these gorgeous sentiments in this stamp set!  I stamped the You're in my Thoughts sentiment in Elegant Eggplant.  Lastly I added 5 clear dew drops from Pretty Pink Posh with my fine tip glue pen.  I hope you love this as much as I do.  I'm really growing to love messy!  lol

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Below is a list of the products used. Since both the Swirly Bird and Thoughtful Branches stamp sets are available in bundles, I've linked them that way as well!  Blessings,  Tina

ICS Blog Hop - Fabulous Framelits!

Hello and Welcome to Inspire, Create, & Share's Fabulous Framelits Blog Hop!  If you have already been hopping you should have landed here from Deb Naylor's fabulous blog and I'd like to thank you for continuing on the hop!  Stampin' Up! has so many fabulous stamp sets with matching framelits that I have to admit this was a tough decision!  I mean really how do you choose with so many great sets!  Well my decision was really down to which set I hadn't had time to play around with!  lol  So Weather Together and the coordinating Umbrella Weather Framelits Dies was the winner!

I started with an 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" piece of Dapper Denim Cardstock that was scored at 4 1/4".  My next layer was a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  My top layer was a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of Soft Sky Cardstock that was sponged along the edges as well as some random circular motions with Dapper Denim Ink.  I added three clouds cut from the framelits in Basic Gray and then sponged along the edges with Dapper Denim.  The small one was attached with Snail adhesive and the large clouds were attached with Dimensionals.  I also cut out some of the rain drops from the framelits in soft sky and attached them with a Fine Tip Glue Pen.  I also layered some of the glue onto the top of the rain drops to give them some dimension.  I stamped my umbrella handle with Dapper Denim onto Basic Gray cardstock and cut them out with the Framelits as well.  The bottom umbrella was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock with Rich Razzleberry Ink and the top umbrella was simply cut with a piece of Playful Palette DSP.  I stamped the "we'll weather this together" sentiment from the Weather Together stamp set with Dapper Denim Ink onto a 1/2" strip of Whisper White Cardstock.  I used my Paper Snips to cut a banner end on the right side of the sentiment and tucked the left side under one of the umbrellas.  Lastly I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to add a few sequins.  This was such a simple yet fun card to make.  If you don't have this set yet, why don't you?  It's fabulous!

Next up is the awesome Joni Metras, just click the next button and you'll be there!

Since this fit the challenge I added my card to the SUO Challenge Blog!

SIP Challenge #59 - Funny!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  This week's challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper is sure to leave you with a chuckle or too because it's a Funny Challenge! lol

I was super excited about the idea of a Funny Challenge but when it was time for the stamp to hit the paper, I struggled a bit.  I finally decided on using a retired stamp set from Skipping Stones called Dogs Vol 1.  Anyone that knows me knows that I'm a big dog lover, well I love small dogs too...lol

So there were two different sentiments that went with the image of the dog with the cone on it's head.  I let my hubby pick and he thought this was the funniest but the other one is super funny too.  It is "It's all fun & games until someone ends up in a cone!".   Which is your favorite?

The grassy border die is from Lawn Fawn.  I tried using my copics to ground the dogs but I wasn't happy with how it looked so I added the grassy border.  Hey dogs with cones on their head still have to go outside, right??  the grassy border was cut out with Mossy Meadow so I used a Mossy Meadow Stitched Ribbon on the side as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
