The Spot Challenge #163 Sketch Challenge with the beautiful Expressions in Ink Suite from Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends!  I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!!  I had a wonderful weekend with lots of crafting time!  I finally received my first shipment from the New Stampin' Up! Catalog and I can tell you one suite is really standing out to me... Expressions in Ink!  It is absolutely stunning!!  I fell in love with it when I first saw the new Annual Catalog!  The DSP with the Alcohol Ink look and the gold is absolutely amazing!  The stamps are some of the most fab images I have seen!  It is seriously hard to describe the look that can be achieved from just rubber stamps, ink and paper!  So... since it is Tuesday it's time for another Design Team post for the New Challenge over at The Spot Challenge Blog!

Cute Sketch, right?  Of course I had to take advantage of the beautiful new Expressions In Ink Suite for this week's card.  I hope you love this suite as much as I do!

When I saw the sketch, I thought of a little fun fold that uses two different DSPs.  I have no idea what it's called but it's a simple one with just an extra score line.

Here's another look at it...

I started with a Magenta Madness Card Base that measured 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at 4" and 5-1/2".  I layered on a layer of Evening Evergreen Cardstock that measured 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" that was scored 1-1/4" and adhered to the front card panel making sure that the score line matches up with the score line on the Magenta Madness Card Base.  Next I layered on two coordinating panels of the Expressions in Ink DSP that measured 1-1/8" x 3-3/4" and 3-7/8" x 3/3/4".  The left portion of the card before the scoreline was adhered with Multipurpose Adhesive.  I ran some of white baker's twine around that section twice and knotted it at the top and added a small piece of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon before tying the knot.  The tag was cut in Evening Evergreen Cardstock using the Tailor Made Tag Dies.  The little reinforcement piece of the tag was cut in the new Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.  On a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock I stamped the flower from the Artistically Inked Stamp set in Pale Papaya.  I also stamped the three small flowers from the set in Magenta Madness.  The flowers were then cut out using the coordinating Artistic Dies.  I stamped the best wishes sentiment from the stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed it in gold.  I ran a small piece of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon through the hole in the tag and adhered the tag to the front of the card making sure it was not adhered to the portion of the card that does not open so that the tag would not bend.  With glue dots I added some of the Gold leaves from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and then added the large flower with Dimensionals and two of the three smaller flowers with Mini Dimensionals.  The smallest of the three flowers was adhered with a glue dot.  Finally I added three of the adhesive backed sequins from the Ephemera Pack to the tag to finish off the front of the card.

For the inside..

The inside layer was a 3-7/8" x 4" panel of Basic White.  I stamped some of the images from the stamp set on the lower left corner in Pale Papaya, Magenta Madness and Just Jade ink before adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the inside.

That's it for my card share today.  I hope you loved it as much as I did.  Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #158 - Since you loved this Sketch Challenge, Sketch Revisited with Stampin ' Up! Art Gallery Bundle

Well Friends, this is a first!  The Spot Challenge is revisiting last week's sketch since it was so popular!  I agree, of course, it is an awesome sketch!

I had some fun this weekend playing with the Art Gallery Bundle so I decided to use it again on my revisit with this fun sketch.  The gorgeous Fine Art Floral was perfect to use on this card!

I started with an A2 Card base of Night of Navy.  I added a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" matt of So Saffron and a panel of the gorgeous Fine Art Floral DSP measuring 5" x  3-3/4".  The vertical matt of  Night of Navy measured 1-7/8" x 4-3/4" and the DSP measured 1-3/4" x 4-5/8".  There are sooo many fabulous color combinations that can be used with the Art Gallery Stamp Set!  Because of the DSP I used, I went with So Saffron for the flower and the detail flower image (since restamping the same color over the base will darken it just enough, I think) and Calypso Coral for the flower center.  I used Mossy Meadow for the stem and leaves.  Instead of using the label dies with the bundle, I just used my trimmer and matted them in Night of Navy with a fun slant on both the top and bottom for a bit of a funky look.  I finished it off with three pearls and a little Night of Navy Twine Bow.  This DSP is so gorgeous that it really doesn't need much added... so sad it will retire soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

The Spot Challenge #157 Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up! Hydrangea Haven Bundle

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I am sooo excited that this is the just the 3rd Tuesday I have to work until I retire!  Yes... the end of April and I'm home free and ready to craft my days away!  Ok, so maybe a little cleaning and cooking to keep my Hubby happy!

Since it is a Tuesday, that means it's time for another Spot Challenge and this week we have what I think is a pretty cool sketch..

Here's what I came up with...

My colors for this fun card are Highland Heather, Misty Moonlight, Basic White and Mossy Meadow.  The Hydrangea Hill DSP is so beautiful that I chose to cover the entire front of the Highland Heather Card  Base with a panel of it measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  The vertical panel of DSP measures 2" x 4-3/4" and was matted with 2-1/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Highland Heather CS.   I stamped the sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight on a scrap of Basic White CS and cut it out with the coordinating Die from Floral Gallery Dies.  The Highland Heather scallop strip using the Peony Dies and cut to 2-3/8".   and I thought it added a nice touch to the design.  I love scallop accents added under the sentiment.  I cut the stem and leaves out of Mossy Meadow and adhered it with glue dots and added a small bow with the Misty Moonlight and White twine from the Flowers for Every Season Combo Pack.  The top to the Hydrangea was cut out of Highland Heather cardstock and the edges were sponged with Misty Moonlight before adding it with dimensionals over the stem and leaves.  Finally I added some mini Pearl Basic Jewels over the holes in the hydrangea so that the dimensionals wouldn't show through.  I finished the card front off with three of the Elegant Faceted Gems.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
