SIP #202 Life's a Beach with Stampin Up! Lilypad Lake

Hi There!  I hope your week is off to another good start!  This week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a Beach Theme!

I usually LOVE anything Nautical but as usual I waited until the last minute and didn't have a lot of energy so I went with something pretty simple.

My inspiration started with a shimmer paint spray from Hero Arts that I had lying around and hadn't used.  I had a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and sprayed the cardstock on the lower right corner to see what color it was.  It was just a little too green for me at first so I picked up a bottle of FSJ Cool Pool Silk and added a little in the same corner and then misted it with water using a TH Distress Mister.  I used my heat tool to dry it and then stamped the "Be calm and leave it to God" sentiment from the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set in the upper left corner.  I stamped the bird onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock using Versafine Black Ink and cut it out with the coordinating Lakeside Framelits.  I adhered my bird... is it a Heron???... onto the lower left as it he is walking into a storm of water.  I used some Emerald Envy Cardstock to Matt my front panel and then mounted all of that onto Basic Black Cardstock.  I added just a few dashes with a black marker where my bird was walking to ground him a bit.  I second guessed myself on that but alas it was too late.  lol

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina

PCC339 Sketch Challenge

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I'm still in the mood to use up some of my DSP and patterned paper so this week's challenge over at The Paper Craft Crew helped me out.  Check out this sketch...

And look at this gorgeous center panel of Patterned Paper from Altenew that I used!

It has so many gorgeous colors in that watercolored rose.  I heat embossed in black onto a scrap of Pink Cardstock,  the sentiment from CZ Designs SSS Simple Sentiments II You are Loved Stamp Set for the side of the panel.  For the butterfly I heat embossed in black the SU Butterfly Gala butterfly onto a scrap of Lavender Cardstock and punched it out with the Butterfly Duet Punch.  I added a few splatters with a Black marker and 3 PPP Sparkling Clear Confetti Sequins to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!   Blessings, Tina

SIP #201 Color Challenge with SU Butterfly Gala

Hi there!  I hope your week is off to a great start.  My kitchen remodel is almost completely done which means that I am beginning to have a little more room in my craft room again!  It was tough with all of my kitchen stuff packed away and in my way for soooo long!  There are still some things I need to get done but it is so much better and I am finally getting some things unpacked and out of my craft room so that I can make my way to some of my stamp sets!

This week over at Stamp, Ink, Paper  we have a color challenge for you to check out.

Aren't these colors beautiful?!?

Calypso Coral is one of my all time favorite colors and luckily for me I found a piece of retired Patterned Paper that looked to be a wash of it!  I'm back to using the April Paper Pumpkin floral on the background tone-on-tone again.  I just love this flower so I'm sure I'll use it a lot.  Sorry... not sorry!  lol   I heat embossed  the sentiment on the panel in black and then cut the panel out with my Stitched Rectangle Framelits.  The butterflies from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set were heat embossed in Black on watercolor paper and then colored with Kuretake Zig Clean Color Markers with an aqua painter.  Once they were dry, I punched them out with the Butterfly Duet Punch.  And adhered just the bodies with Multipurpose glue so that the wings could be lifted up to add dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings, Tina
